1 N ow concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.

En cuanto a los dones espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que seáis ignorantes.

2 Y ou know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.

Sabéis que cuando erais paganos, de una manera u otra erais arrastrados hacia los ídolos mudos.

3 T herefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.

Por tanto, os hago saber que nadie hablando por el Espíritu de Dios, dice: Jesús es anatema; y nadie puede decir: Jesús es el Señor, excepto por el Espíritu Santo. Diversidad y unidad de los dones

4 N ow there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

Ahora bien, hay diversidad de dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo.

5 T here are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.

Y hay diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo.

6 T here are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.

Y hay diversidad de operaciones, pero es el mismo Dios el que hace todas las cosas en todos.

7 B ut to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.

Pero a cada uno se le da la manifestación del Espíritu para el bien común.

8 F or to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

Pues a uno le es dada palabra de sabiduría por el Espíritu; a otro, palabra de conocimiento según el mismo Espíritu;

9 t o another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;

a otro, fe por el mismo Espíritu; a otro, dones de sanidad por el único Espíritu;

10 a nd to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.

a otro, poder de milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversas clases de lenguas, y a otro, interpretación de lenguas.

11 B ut the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

Pero todas estas cosas las hace uno y el mismo Espíritu, distribuyendo individualmente a cada uno según la voluntad de El. La iglesia, cuerpo de Cristo

12 F or as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.

Porque así como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros del cuerpo, aunque son muchos, constituyen un solo cuerpo, así también es Cristo.

13 F or in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

Pues por un mismo Espíritu todos fuimos bautizados en un solo cuerpo, ya judíos o griegos, ya esclavos o libres, y a todos se nos dio a beber del mismo Espíritu.

14 F or the body is not one member, but many.

Porque el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos.

15 I f the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.

Si el pie dijera: Porque no soy mano, no soy parte del cuerpo, no por eso deja de ser parte del cuerpo.

16 I f the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.

Y si el oído dijera: Porque no soy ojo, no soy parte del cuerpo, no por eso deja de ser parte del cuerpo.

17 I f the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?

Si todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿qué sería del oído? Si todo fuera oído, ¿qué sería del olfato?

18 B ut now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.

Ahora bien, Dios ha colocado a cada uno de los miembros en el cuerpo según le agradó.

19 I f they were all one member, where would the body be?

Y si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿qué sería del cuerpo?

20 B ut now they are many members, but one body.

Sin embargo, hay muchos miembros, pero un solo cuerpo.

21 T he eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”

Y el ojo no puede decir a la mano: No te necesito; ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: No os necesito.

22 N o, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

Por el contrario, la verdad es que los miembros del cuerpo que parecen ser los más débiles, son los más necesarios;

23 T hose parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;

y las partes del cuerpo que estimamos menos honrosas, a éstas las vestimos con más honra; de manera que las partes que consideramos más íntimas, reciben un trato más honroso,

24 w hereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,

ya que nuestras partes presentables no lo necesitan. Mas así formó Dios el cuerpo, dando mayor honra a la parte que carecía de ella,

25 t hat there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

a fin de que en el cuerpo no haya división, sino que los miembros tengan el mismo cuidado unos por otros.

26 W hen one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Y si un miembro sufre, todos los miembros sufren con él; y si un miembro es honrado, todos los miembros se regocijan con él.

27 N ow you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

Ahora bien, vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y cada uno individualmente un miembro de él.

28 G od has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.

Y en la iglesia, Dios ha designado: primeramente, apóstoles; en segundo lugar, profetas; en tercer lugar, maestros; luego, milagros; después, dones de sanidad, ayudas, administraciones, diversas clases de lenguas.

29 A re all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?

¿Acaso son todos apóstoles? ¿Acaso son todos profetas? ¿Acaso son todos maestros? ¿Acaso son todos obradores de milagros ?

30 D o all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?

¿Acaso tienen todos dones de sanidad ? ¿Acaso hablan todos en lenguas? ¿Acaso interpretan todos ?

31 B ut earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.

Mas desead ardientemente los mejores dones. Y aun yo os muestro un camino más excelente.
