1 G od spoke all these words, saying,

2 “ I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Yo soy el Señor tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto, de la casa de servidumbre.

3 “ You shall have no other gods before me.

No tendrás otros dioses delante de mí.

4 “ You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

No te harás ídolo, ni semejanza alguna de lo que está arriba en el cielo, ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra.

5 y ou shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,

No los adorarás ni los servirás; porque yo, el Señor tu Dios, soy Dios celoso, que castigo la iniquidad de los padres sobre los hijos hasta la tercera y cuarta generación de los que me aborrecen,

6 a nd showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

y muestro misericordia a millares, a los que me aman y guardan mis mandamientos.

7 “ You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

No tomarás el nombre del Señor tu Dios en vano, porque el Señor no tendrá por inocente al que tome su nombre en vano.

8 “ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Acuérdate del día de reposo para santificarlo.

9 Y ou shall labor six days, and do all your work,

Seis días trabajarás y harás toda tu obra,

10 b ut the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates;

mas el séptimo día es día de reposo para el Señor tu Dios; no harás en él obra alguna, tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu sierva, ni tu ganado, ni el extranjero que está contigo.

11 f or in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.

Porque en seis días hizo el Señor los cielos y la tierra, el mar y todo lo que en ellos hay, y reposó en el séptimo día; por tanto, el Señor bendijo el día de reposo y lo santificó.

12 “ Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.

Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, para que tus días sean prolongados en la tierra que el Señor tu Dios te da.

13 “ You shall not murder.

No matarás.

14 “ You shall not commit adultery.

No cometerás adulterio.

15 “ You shall not steal.

No hurtarás.

16 “ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

No darás falso testimonio contra tu prójimo.

17 “ You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

No codiciarás la casa de tu prójimo; no codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, ni su siervo, ni su sierva, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni nada que sea de tu prójimo. El pueblo teme al Señor

18 A ll the people perceived the thunderings, the lightnings, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking. When the people saw it, they trembled, and stayed at a distance.

Y todo el pueblo percibía los truenos y relámpagos, el sonido de la trompeta y el monte que humeaba; y cuando el pueblo vio aquello, temblaron, y se mantuvieron a distancia.

19 T hey said to Moses, “Speak with us yourself, and we will listen; but don’t let God speak with us, lest we die.”

Entonces dijeron a Moisés: Habla tú con nosotros y escucharemos; pero que no hable Dios con nosotros, no sea que muramos.

20 M oses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, and that his fear may be before you, that you won’t sin.”

Y respondió Moisés al pueblo: No temáis, porque Dios ha venido para poneros a prueba, y para que su temor permanezca en vosotros, y para que no pequéis.

21 T he people stayed at a distance, and Moses came near to the thick darkness where God was.

Y el pueblo se mantuvo a distancia, mientras Moisés se acercaba a la densa nube donde estaba Dios.

22 Y ahweh said to Moses, “This is what you shall tell the children of Israel: ‘You yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

Entonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: Así dirás a los hijos de Israel: “Vosotros habéis visto que os he hablado desde el cielo.

23 Y ou shall most certainly not make alongside of me gods of silver, or gods of gold for yourselves.

“No haréis junto a mí dioses de plata ni dioses de oro; no os los haréis.

24 Y ou shall make an altar of earth for me, and shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your cattle. In every place where I record my name I will come to you and I will bless you.

“Harás un altar de tierra para mí, y sobre él sacrificarás tus holocaustos y tus ofrendas de paz, tus ovejas y tus bueyes; en todo lugar donde yo haga recordar mi nombre, vendré a ti y te bendeciré.

25 I f you make me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of cut stones; for if you lift up your tool on it, you have polluted it.

“Y si me haces un altar de piedra, no lo construirás de piedras labradas; porque si alzas tu cincel sobre él, lo profanarás.

26 Y ou shall not go up by steps to my altar, that your nakedness may not be exposed to it.’

“Y no subirás por gradas a mi altar, para que tu desnudez no se descubra sobre él.”
