1 T hen we turned, and went up the way to Bashan. Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

Volvimos, pues, y subimos por el camino de Basán, y Og, rey de Basán, nos salió al encuentro con todo su pueblo para pelear en Edrei.

2 Y ahweh said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, with all his people, and his land, into your hand. You shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”

Pero el Señor me dijo: “No le tengas miedo, porque en tu mano yo lo he entregado a él, y a todo su pueblo y su tierra; y harás con él tal como hiciste con Sehón, rey de los amorreos, que habitaba en Hesbón.”

3 S o Yahweh our God delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people. We struck him until no one was left to him remaining.

Así que el Señor nuestro Dios entregó también a Og, rey de Basán, con todo su pueblo en nuestra mano, y los herimos hasta que no quedaron sobrevivientes.

4 W e took all his cities at that time. There was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

Y tomamos en aquel entonces todas sus ciudades; no quedó ciudad que no les tomáramos: sesenta ciudades, toda la región de Argob, el reino de Og en Basán.

5 A ll these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides a great many towns without walls.

Todas éstas eran ciudades fortificadas con altas murallas, puertas y barras, aparte de muchos otros pueblos sin murallas.

6 W e utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.

Las destruimos totalmente, como hicimos con Sehón, rey de Hesbón, exterminando a todos los hombres, mujeres y niños de cada ciudad;

7 B ut all the livestock, and the plunder of the cities, we took for plunder for ourselves.

pero tomamos como nuestro botín todos los animales y los despojos de las ciudades.

8 W e took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon.

Así tomamos entonces la tierra de mano de los dos reyes de los amorreos que estaban del otro lado del Jordán, desde el valle del Arnón hasta el monte Hermón

13 a nd the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim.

Y el resto de Galaad y todo Basán, el reino de Og, toda la región de Argob, se la di a la media tribu de Manasés. (En cuanto a todo Basán, se le llama la tierra de los gigantes.

14 J air the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.)

Jair, hijo de Manasés, tomó toda la región de Argob hasta la frontera con Gesur y Maaca, y la llamó, es decir a Basán, según su propio nombre, Havot-jair, como se llama hasta hoy.)

16 T o the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

A los rubenitas y a los gaditas les di desde Galaad hasta el valle del Arnón, el medio del valle como frontera, hasta el arroyo Jaboc, frontera de los hijos de Amón;

17 t he Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.

también el Arabá, con el Jordán como frontera, desde el Cineret hasta el mar del Arabá, el mar Salado, al pie de las laderas del Pisga al oriente.

18 I commanded you at that time, saying, “Yahweh your God has given you this land to possess it. You shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor.

Y en aquel tiempo yo os ordené, diciendo: “El Señor vuestro Dios os ha dado esta tierra para poseerla; todos vosotros, hombres valientes, cruzaréis armados delante de vuestros hermanos, los hijos de Israel.

19 B ut your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you,

“Pero vuestras mujeres, vuestros pequeños y vuestro ganado (yo sé que tenéis mucho ganado ), permanecerán en las ciudades que os he dado,

20 u ntil Yahweh gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which Yahweh your God gives them beyond the Jordan. Then you shall each return to his own possession, which I have given you.”

hasta que el Señor dé reposo a vuestros compatriotas como a vosotros, y posean ellos también la tierra que el Señor vuestro Dios les dará al otro lado del Jordán. Entonces podréis volver cada hombre a la posesión que os he dado.”

21 I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to these two kings. So shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms where you go over.

Y ordené a Josué en aquel tiempo, diciendo: “Tus ojos han visto todo lo que el Señor vuestro Dios ha hecho a estos dos reyes; así hará el Señor a todos los reinos por los cuales vas a pasar.

22 Y ou shall not fear them; for Yahweh your God himself fights for you.”

“No les temáis, porque el Señor vuestro Dios es el que pelea por vosotros.” No se le concede a Moisés cruzar el Jordán

23 I begged Yahweh at that time, saying,

Yo también supliqué al Señor en aquel tiempo, diciendo:

24 “ Lord Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness, and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or in earth that can do works like yours, and mighty acts like yours?

“Oh Señor Dios, tú has comenzado a mostrar a tu siervo tu grandeza y tu mano poderosa; porque ¿qué dios hay en los cielos o en la tierra que pueda hacer obras y hechos tan poderosos como los tuyos ?

25 P lease let me go over and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that fine mountain, and Lebanon.”

“Permíteme, te suplico, cruzar y ver la buena tierra que está al otro lado del Jordán, aquella buena región montañosa y el Líbano.”

26 B ut Yahweh was angry with me for your sakes, and didn’t listen to me. Yahweh said to me, “Let this satisfy you. Speak no more to me of this matter.

Pero el Señor se enojó conmigo a causa de vosotros, y no me escuchó; y el Señor me dijo: “¡Basta! No me hables más de esto.

27 G o up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with your eyes; for you shall not go over this Jordan.

“Sube a la cumbre del Pisga y alza tus ojos al occidente, al norte, al sur y al oriente, y míra la con tus propios ojos, porque tú no cruzarás este Jordán.

28 B ut commission Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you shall see.”

“Pero encarga a Josué, y anímale y fortalécele, porque él pasará a la cabeza de este pueblo, y él les dará por heredad la tierra que tú verás.”

29 S o we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.
