1 I n his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years. Then he turned and rebelled against him.

En los días de Joacim subió Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y Joacim fue su siervo por tres años; después se levantó y se rebeló contra él.

2 Y ahweh sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to Yahweh’s word, which he spoke by his servants the prophets.

Y el Señor envió contra Joacim bandas de caldeos, bandas de arameos, bandas de moabitas y bandas de amonitas. Y las envió contra Judá para destruirla, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado por medio de sus siervos los profetas.

3 S urely at the commandment of Yahweh this came on Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

Ciertamente por mandato del Señor sucedió esto contra Judá para quitarlos de su presencia, por los pecados de Manasés, por todo lo que había hecho,

4 a nd also for the innocent blood that he shed; for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Yahweh would not pardon.

y también por la sangre inocente que derramó, pues llenó a Jerusalén de sangre inocente, y el Señor no quiso perdonar.

5 N ow the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Los demás hechos de Joacim y todo lo que hizo ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

6 S o Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

Y durmió Joacim con sus padres; y su hijo Joaquín reinó en su lugar.

7 T he king of Egypt didn’t come out of his land any more; for the king of Babylon had taken, from the brook of Egypt to the river Euphrates, all that belonged to the king of Egypt.

Y el rey de Egipto no salió más de su tierra, porque el rey de Babilonia había tomado todo lo que pertenecía al rey de Egipto desde el torrente de Egipto hasta el río Eufrates.

8 J ehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

Joaquín tenía dieciocho años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Nehusta, hija de Elnatán, de Jerusalén.

9 H e did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that his father had done.

E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, conforme a todo lo que había hecho su padre. Primera deportación

10 A t that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

En aquel tiempo los siervos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, subieron a Jerusalén, y la ciudad fue sitiada.

11 N ebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it,

Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, llegó a la ciudad mientras sus siervos la tenían sitiada.

12 a nd Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers; and the king of Babylon captured him in the eighth year of his reign.

Y Joaquín, rey de Judá, se rindió al rey de Babilonia, él y su madre, sus capitanes, sus jefes y sus oficiales. El rey de Babilonia lo apresó en el año octavo de su reinado.

13 H e carried out from there all the treasures of Yahweh’s house, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold, which Solomon king of Israel had made in Yahweh’s temple, as Yahweh had said.

Sacó de allí todos los tesoros de la casa del Señor, los tesoros de la casa del rey, y destrozó todos los utensilios de oro que Salomón, rey de Israel, había hecho en el templo del Señor, tal como el Señor había dicho.

14 H e carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. No one remained, except the poorest people of the land.

Y se llevó en cautiverio a todo Jerusalén: a todos los capitanes, a todos los hombres valientes, diez mil cautivos, y a todos los artesanos y herreros. Nadie quedó, excepto la gente más pobre del país.

15 H e carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, with the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officers, and the chief men of the land. He carried them into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

También se llevó a Joaquín en cautiverio a Babilonia; asimismo a la madre del rey y a las mujeres del rey, a sus oficiales y a los poderosos del país, se los llevó en cautiverio de Jerusalén a Babilonia.

16 A ll the men of might, even seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths one thousand, all of them strong and fit for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon.

Todos los hombres valientes, siete mil, y los artesanos y herreros, mil, todos fuertes y aptos para la guerra, también a éstos el rey de Babilonia llevó en cautiverio a Babilonia.

17 T he king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s father’s brother, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.

Entonces el rey de Babilonia puso por rey en lugar de Joaquín, a su tío Matanías y cambió su nombre por el de Sedequías.

18 Z edekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Hamutal, hija de Jeremías, de Libna.

19 H e did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, conforme a todo lo que había hecho Joacim.

20 F or through the anger of Yahweh, this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Por causa de la ira del Señor sucedió esto en Jerusalén y en Judea, hasta que los echó de su presencia. Y Sedequías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia.
