1 H e arose from there and came into the borders of Judea and beyond the Jordan. Multitudes came together to him again. As he usually did, he was again teaching them.

2 P harisees came to him testing him, and asked him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”

Y se le acercaron algunos fariseos, y para ponerle a prueba, le preguntaban si era lícito a un hombre divorciarse de su mujer.

3 H e answered, “What did Moses command you?”

Y respondiendo El, les dijo: ¿Qué os mandó Moisés?

4 T hey said, “Moses allowed a certificate of divorce to be written, and to divorce her.”

Y ellos dijeron: Moisés permitió al hombre escribir carta de divorcio y repudiar la.

5 B ut Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment.

Pero Jesús les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón os escribió este mandamiento.

6 B ut from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.

Pero desde el principio de la creación, Dios los hizo varon y hembra.

7 F or this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife,

Por esta razon el hombre dejara a su padre y a su madre,

8 a nd the two will become one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh.

y los dos seran una sola carne; por consiguiente, ya no son dos, sino una sola carne.

9 W hat therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

Por tanto, lo que Dios ha unido, ningún hombre lo separe.

10 I n the house, his disciples asked him again about the same matter.

Y ya en la casa, los discípulos volvieron a preguntarle sobre esto.

11 H e said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.

Y El les dijo: Cualquiera que se divorcie de su mujer y se case con otra, comete adulterio contra ella;

12 I f a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery.”

y si ella se divorcia de su marido y se casa con otro, comete adulterio. Jesús bendice a los niños

13 T hey were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.

Y le traían niños para que los tocara; y los discípulos los reprendieron.

14 B ut when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.

Pero cuando Jesús vio esto, se indignó y les dijo: Dejad que los niños vengan a mí; no se lo impidáis, porque de los que son como éstos es el reino de Dios.

15 M ost certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”

En verdad os digo: el que no reciba el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él.

16 H e took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them.

Y tomándolos en sus brazos, los bendecía, poniendo las manos sobre ellos. El joven rico

17 A s he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?”

Cuando salía para seguir su camino, vino uno corriendo, y arrodillándose delante de El, le preguntó: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna ?

18 J esus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.

Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Nadie es bueno, sino sólo uno, Dios.

19 Y ou know the commandments: ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not give false testimony,’ ‘Do not defraud,’ ‘Honor your father and mother.’”

Tú sabes los mandamientos: “ No mates, no cometas adulterio, no hurtes, no des falso testimonio, no defraudes, honra a tu padre y a tu madre ”.

20 H e said to him, “Teacher, I have observed all these things from my youth.”

Y él le dijo: Maestro, todo esto lo he guardado desde mi juventud.

21 J esus looking at him loved him, and said to him, “One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me, taking up the cross.”

Jesús, mirándolo, lo amó y le dijo: Una cosa te falta: ve y vende cuanto tienes y da a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo; y ven, sígueme.

22 B ut his face fell at that saying, and he went away sorrowful, for he was one who had great possessions.

Pero él, afligido por estas palabras, se fue triste, porque era dueño de muchos bienes. Peligro de las riquezas

23 J esus looked around, and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!”

Jesús, mirando en derredor, dijo a sus discípulos: ¡Qué difícil será para los que tienen riquezas entrar en el reino de Dios!

24 T he disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again, “Children, how hard is it for those who trust in riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!

Y los discípulos se asombraron de sus palabras. Pero Jesús respondiendo de nuevo, les dijo: Hijos, ¡qué difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios!

25 I t is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”

Es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una aguja, que el que un rico entre en el reino de Dios.

26 T hey were exceedingly astonished, saying to him, “Then who can be saved?”

Ellos se asombraron aún más, diciendo entre sí: ¿Y quién podrá salvarse?

27 J esus, looking at them, said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.”

Mirándolos Jesús, dijo: Para los hombres es imposible, pero no para Dios, porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios.

28 P eter began to tell him, “Behold, we have left all, and have followed you.”

Entonces Pedro comenzó a decirle: He aquí, nosotros lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido.

29 J esus said, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or land, for my sake, and for the sake of the Good News,

Jesús dijo: En verdad os digo: No hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o hermanos, o hermanas, o madre, o padre, o hijos o tierras por causa de mí y por causa del evangelio,

30 b ut he will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come eternal life.

que no reciba cien veces más ahora en este tiempo: casas, y hermanos, y hermanas, y madres, e hijos, y tierras junto con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero, la vida eterna.

31 B ut many who are first will be last; and the last first.”

Pero muchos primeros serán últimos, y los últimos, primeros. Jesús anuncia su muerte por tercera vez

32 T hey were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going in front of them, and they were amazed; and those who followed were afraid. He again took the twelve, and began to tell them the things that were going to happen to him.

E iban por el camino subiendo a Jerusalén, y Jesús iba delante de ellos; y estaban perplejos, y los que le seguían tenían miedo. Y tomando aparte de nuevo a los doce, comenzó a decirles lo que le iba a suceder:

33 “ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.

He aquí, subimos a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado a los principales sacerdotes y a los escribas, y le condenarán a muerte y le entregarán a los gentiles.

34 T hey will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”

Y se burlarán de El y le escupirán, le azotarán y le matarán, y tres días después resucitará. Petición de Jacobo y Juan

35 J ames and John, the sons of Zebedee, came near to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we will ask.”

Y se le acercaron Jacobo y Juan, los dos hijos de Zebedeo, diciéndole: Maestro, queremos que hagas por nosotros lo que te pidamos.

36 H e said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”

Y El les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?

37 T hey said to him, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right hand, and one at your left hand, in your glory.”

Ellos le dijeron: Concédenos que en tu gloria nos sentemos uno a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda.

38 B ut Jesus said to them, “You don’t know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

Pero Jesús les dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber la copa que yo bebo, o ser bautizados con el bautismo con que soy bautizado ?

39 T hey said to him, “We are able.” Jesus said to them, “You shall indeed drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with;

Y ellos le dijeron: Podemos. Y Jesús les dijo: La copa que yo bebo, beberéis; y seréis bautizados con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado,

40 b ut to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”

pero el que os sentéis a mi derecha o a mi izquierda, no es mío el concederlo, sino que es para quienes ha sido preparado.

41 W hen the ten heard it, they began to be indignant towards James and John.

Al oír esto, los diez comenzaron a indignarse contra Jacobo y Juan.

42 J esus summoned them, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

Y llamándolos junto a sí, Jesús les dijo: Sabéis que los que son reconocidos como gobernantes de los gentiles se enseñorean de ellos, y que sus grandes ejercen autoridad sobre ellos.

43 B ut it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant.

Pero entre vosotros no es así, sino que cualquiera de vosotros que desee llegar a ser grande será vuestro servidor,

44 W hoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all.

y cualquiera de vosotros que desee ser el primero será siervo de todos.

45 F or the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Porque ni aun el Hijo del Hombre vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos. El ciego Bartimeo es sanado

46 T hey came to Jericho. As he went out from Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.

Entonces llegaron a Jericó. Y cuando salía de Jericó con sus discípulos y una gran multitud, un mendigo ciego llamado Bartimeo, el hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino.

47 W hen he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”

Y cuando oyó que era Jesús el Nazareno, comenzó a gritar y a decir: ¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí!

48 M any rebuked him, that he should be quiet, but he cried out much more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”

Y muchos lo reprendían para que se callara, pero él gritaba mucho más: ¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí!

49 J esus stood still, and said, “Call him.” They called the blind man, saying to him, “Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!”

Y Jesús se detuvo y dijo: Llamadle. Y llamaron al ciego, diciéndole: ¡Anímate! Levántate, que te llama.

50 H e, casting away his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.

Y arrojando su manto, se levantó de un salto y fue a Jesús.

51 J esus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “Rabboni, that I may see again.”

Y dirigiéndose a él, Jesús le dijo: ¿Qué deseas que haga por ti? Y el ciego le respondió: Raboní, que recobre la vista.

52 J esus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the way.

Y Jesús le dijo: Vete, tu fe te ha sanado. Y al instante recobró la vista, y le seguía por el camino.
