1 C omo canales de agua es el corazón del rey en la mano del Señor; El lo dirige donde le place.

The king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever he will.

2 T odo camino del hombre es recto ante sus ojos, pero el Señor sondea los corazones.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the hearts.

3 E l hacer justicia y derecho es más deseado por el Señor que el sacrificio.

To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.

4 O jos altivos y corazón arrogante, lámpara de los impíos; eso es pecado.

A high look, and a proud heart, Even the lamp of the wicked, is sin.

5 L os proyectos del diligente ciertamente son ventaja, mas todo el que se apresura, ciertamente llega a la pobreza.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; But every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.

6 C onseguir tesoros con lengua mentirosa es un vapor fugaz, es buscar la muerte.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue Is a vapor driven to and fro by them that seek death.

7 L a violencia de los impíos los arrastrará, porque se niegan a obrar con justicia.

The violence of the wicked shall sweep them away, Because they refuse to do justice.

8 T orcido es el camino del pecador mas el proceder del limpio es recto.

The way of him that is laden with guilt is exceeding crooked; But as for the pure, his work is right.

9 M ejor es vivir en un rincón del terrado que en una casa con mujer rencillosa.

It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.

10 E l alma del impío desea el mal; su prójimo no halla favor a sus ojos.

The soul of the wicked desireth evil: His neighbor findeth no favor in his eyes.

11 C uando el escarnecedor es castigado, el simple se hace sabio; pero cuando se instruye al sabio, adquiere conocimiento.

When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; And when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

12 E l justo observa la casa del impío, llevando al impío a la ruina.

The righteous man considereth the house of the wicked, How the wicked are overthrown to their ruin.

13 E l que cierra su oído al clamor del pobre, también él clamará y no recibirá respuesta.

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry, but shall not be heard.

14 U na dádiva en secreto aplaca la ira, y el soborno bajo el manto, el furor violento.

A gift in secret pacifieth anger; And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.

15 E l cumplimiento de la justicia es gozo para el justo, pero terror para los que obran iniquidad.

It is joy to the righteous to do justice; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

16 E l hombre que se aparta del camino del saber reposará en la asamblea de los muertos.

The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding Shall rest in the assembly of the dead.

17 E l que ama el placer será pobre; el que ama el vino y los ungüentos no se enriquecerá.

He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

18 E l impío es rescate para el justo, y el pérfido está en lugar de los rectos.

The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; And the treacherous cometh in the stead of the upright.

19 M ejor es habitar en tierra desierta que con mujer rencillosa y molesta.

It is better to dwell in a desert land, Than with a contentious and fretful woman.

20 T esoro precioso y aceite hay en la casa del sabio, pero el necio todo lo disipa.

There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; But a foolish man swalloweth it up.

21 E l que sigue la justicia y la lealtad halla vida, justicia y honor.

He that followeth after righteousness and kindness Findeth life, righteousness, and honor.

22 E l sabio escala la ciudad de los poderosos y derriba la fortaleza en que confiaban.

A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, And bringeth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

23 E l que guarda su boca y su lengua, guarda su alma de angustias.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from troubles.

24 A ltivo, arrogante y escarnecedor son los nombres del que obra con orgullo insolente.

The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He worketh in the arrogance of pride.

25 E l deseo del perezoso lo mata, porque sus manos rehúsan trabajar;

The desire of the sluggard killeth him; For his hands refuse to labor.

26 t odo el día codicia, mientras el justo da y nada retiene.

There is that coveteth greedily all the day long; But the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.

27 E l sacrificio de los impíos es abominación, cuánto más trayéndolo con mala intención.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: How much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind!

28 E l testigo falso perecerá, mas el hombre que escucha, hablará siempre.

A false witness shall perish; But the man that heareth shall speak so as to endure.

29 E l hombre impío muestra audacia en su rostro, pero el recto asegura su camino.

A wicked man hardeneth his face; But as for the upright, he establisheth his ways.

30 N o vale sabiduría, ni entendimiento, ni consejo, frente al Señor.

There is no wisdom nor understanding Nor counsel against Jehovah.

31 S e prepara al caballo para el día de la batalla, pero la victoria es del Señor.

The horse is prepared against the day of battle; But victory is of Jehovah.
