1 S alva, Señor, porque el piadoso deja de ser; porque los fieles desaparecen de entre los hijos de los hombres.

Help, Jehovah; for the godly man ceaseth; For the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2 F alsedad habla cada uno a su prójimo; hablan con labios lisonjeros y con doblez de corazón.

They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

3 C orte el Señor todo labio lisonjero, la lengua que habla con exageración;

Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;

4 a los que han dicho: Con nuestra lengua prevaleceremos, nuestros labios nos defienden; ¿quién es señor sobre nosotros ?

Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; Our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

5 P or la desolación del afligido, por los gemidos del menesteroso, me levantaré ahora, dice el Señor; lo pondré en la seguridad que anhela.

Because of the oppression of the poor, because of the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; I will set him in the safety he panteth for.

6 L as palabras del Señor son palabras puras, plata probada en un crisol en la tierra, siete veces refinada.

The words of Jehovah are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, Purified seven times.

7 T ú, Señor, los guardarás; de esta generación los preservarás para siempre.

Thou wilt keep them, O Jehovah, Thou wilt preserve them from this generation for ever.

8 E n torno se pasean los impíos, cuando la vileza es exaltada entre los hijos de los hombres.

The wicked walk on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
