1 O h Señor, escucha mi oración, y llegue a ti mi clamor.

Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, And let my cry come unto thee.

2 N o escondas de mí tu rostro en el día de mi angustia; inclina hacia mí tu oído; el día en que te invoco, respóndeme pronto.

Hide not thy face from me in the day of my distress: Incline thine ear unto me; In the day when I call answer me speedily.

3 P orque mis días han sido consumidos en humo, y como brasero han sido quemados mis huesos.

For my days consume away like smoke, And my bones are burned as a firebrand.

4 M i corazón ha sido herido como la hierba y se ha secado, y hasta me olvido de comer mi pan.

My heart is smitten like grass, and withered; For I forget to eat my bread.

5 A causa de la intensidad de mi gemido mis huesos se pegan a la piel.

By reason of the voice of my groaning My bones cleave to my flesh.

6 M e parezco al pelícano del desierto; como el búho de las soledades he llegado a ser.

I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am become as an owl of the waste places.

7 N o puedo dormir; soy cual pájaro solitario sobre un tejado.

I watch, and am become like a sparrow That is alone upon the house-top.

8 M is enemigos me han afrentado todo el día; los que me escarnecen han usado mi nombre como maldición.

Mine enemies reproach me all the day; They that are mad against me do curse by me.

9 P orque cenizas he comido por pan, y con lágrimas he mezclado mi bebida,

For I have eaten ashes like bread, And mingled my drink with weeping,

10 a causa de tu indignación y de tu enojo; pues tú me has levantado y me has rechazado.

Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: For thou hast taken me up, and cast me away.

11 M is días son como sombra que se alarga; y yo me seco como la hierba.

My days are like a shadow that declineth; And I am withered like grass.

12 M as tú, Señor, permaneces para siempre, y tu nombre por todas las generaciones.

But thou, O Jehovah, wilt abide for ever; And thy memorial name unto all generations.

13 T ú te levantarás y tendrás compasión de Sion, porque es tiempo de apiadarse de ella, pues ha llegado la hora.

Thou wilt arise, and have mercy upon Zion; For it is time to have pity upon her, Yea, the set time is come.

14 C iertamente tus siervos se deleitan en sus piedras, y se apiadan de su polvo.

For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, And have pity upon her dust.

15 Y las naciones temerán el nombre del Señor, y todos los reyes de la tierra, tu gloria.

So the nations shall fear the name of Jehovah, And all the kings of the earth thy glory.

16 P orque el Señor ha edificado a Sion, y se ha manifestado en su gloria.

For Jehovah hath built up Zion; He hath appeared in his glory.

17 H a considerado la oración de los menesterosos, y no ha despreciado su plegaria.

He hath regarded the prayer of the destitute, And hath not despised their prayer.

18 E sto se escribirá para las generaciones futuras; para que un pueblo aún por crear alabe al Señor.

This shall be written for the generation to come; And a people which shall be created shall praise Jehovah.

19 P ues El miró desde su excelso santuario; desde el cielo el Señor se fijó en la tierra,

For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; From heaven did Jehovah behold the earth;

20 p ara oír el gemido de los prisioneros, para poner en libertad a los condenados a muerte;

To hear the sighing of the prisoner; To loose those that are appointed to death;

21 p ara que los hombres anuncien en Sion el nombre del Señor, y su alabanza en Jerusalén,

That men may declare the name of Jehovah in Zion, And his praise in Jerusalem;

22 c uando los pueblos y los reinos se congreguen a una para servir al Señor.

When the peoples are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to serve Jehovah.

23 E l debilitó mis fuerzas en el camino; acortó mis días.

He weakened my strength in the way; He shortened my days.

24 D ije: Dios mío, no me lleves en la mitad de mis días; tus años son por todas las generaciones.

I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: Thy years are throughout all generations.

25 D esde la antigüedad tú fundaste la tierra, y los cielos son la obra de tus manos.

Of old didst thou lay the foundation of the earth; And the heavens are the work of thy hands.

26 E llos perecerán, pero tú permaneces; y todos ellos como una vestidura se desgastarán, como vestido los mudarás, y serán cambiados.

They shall perish, but thou shalt endure; Yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; As a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:

27 P ero tú eres el mismo, y tus años no tendrán fin.

But thou art the same, And thy years shall have no end.

28 L os hijos de tus siervos permanecerán, y su descendencia será establecida delante de ti.

The children of thy servants shall continue, And their seed shall be established before thee.
