1 D espués de esto, sucedió que David derrotó a los filisteos y los sometió, y tomó Gat y sus aldeas de mano de los filisteos.

And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 Y derrotó a Moab, y los moabitas fueron siervos de David, trayéndo le tributo.

And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.

3 D avid derrotó también a Hadad-ezer, rey de Soba, cerca de Hamat, cuando éste iba a establecer su dominio en el río Eufrates.

And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

4 D avid le tomó mil carros y siete mil hombres de a caballo y veinte mil soldados de a pie; David desjarretó todos los caballos de los carros, pero dejó suficientes de ellos para cien carros.

And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hocked all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for a hundred chariots.

5 C uando vinieron los arameos de Damasco en ayuda de Hadad-ezer, rey de Soba, David mató a veintidós mil hombres de los arameos.

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succor Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

6 E ntonces David puso guarniciones en Aram de Damasco; y los arameos fueron siervos de David, trayéndo le tributo. Y el Señor ayudaba a David dondequiera que iba.

Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.

7 T omó David los escudos de oro que llevaban los siervos de Hadad-ezer, y los trajo a Jerusalén.

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 A simismo tomó David una gran cantidad de bronce de Tibhat y de Cun, ciudades de Hadad-ezer, con el cual Salomón hizo el mar de bronce, las columnas y los utensilios de bronce.

And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

9 Y cuando Tou, rey de Hamat, oyó que David había derrotado a todo el ejército de Hadad-ezer, rey de Soba,

And when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah,

10 e nvió a su hijo Adoram al rey David para saludarlo y bendecirlo, porque había peleado contra Hadad-ezer y lo había derrotado, pues Hadad-ezer había estado en guerra con Tou. Y Adoram trajo toda clase de objetos de oro, de plata y de bronce,

he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had wars with Tou;) and he had with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.

11 q ue el rey David dedicó también al Señor, junto con la plata y el oro que había tomado de todas estas naciones: de Edom, de Moab, de los hijos de Amón, de los filisteos y de Amalec.

These also did king David dedicate unto Jehovah, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12 A demás Abisai, hijo de Sarvia, derrotó a dieciocho mil edomitas en el valle de la Sal.

Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.

13 P uso guarniciones en Edom, y todos los edomitas fueron siervos de David. Y el Señor daba la victoria a David dondequiera que iba. Oficiales de David

And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.

14 D avid reinó sobre todo Israel, y administraba justicia y derecho a todo su pueblo.

And David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness unto all his people.

15 J oab, hijo de Sarvia, era jefe del ejército; y Josafat, hijo de Ahilud, era cronista;

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

16 y Sadoc, hijo de Ahitob, y Abimelec, hijo de Abiatar, eran sacerdotes, y Savsá era escriba;

and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe;

17 y Benaía, hijo de Joiada, era jefe de los cereteos y peleteos; y los hijos de David eran los primeros junto al rey.

and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
