1 D ad gracias al Señor, porque El es bueno; porque para siempre es su misericordia.

O give thanks unto Jehovah; For he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever.

2 D ígan lo los redimidos del Señor, a quienes ha redimido de la mano del adversario,

Let the redeemed of Jehovah say so, Whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

3 y los ha reunido de las tierras, del oriente y del occidente, del norte y del sur.

And gathered out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.

4 V agaron por el desierto, por lugar desolado, no hallaron camino a ciudad habitada;

They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; They found no city of habitation.

5 h ambrientos y sedientos, su alma desfallecía en ellos.

Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.

6 E ntonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor, y El los libró de sus aflicciones;

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he delivered them out of their distresses,

7 y los guió por camino recto, para que fueran a una ciudad habitada.

He led them also by a straight way, That they might go to a city of habitation.

8 D en gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9 P orque El ha saciado al alma sedienta, y ha llenado de bienes al alma hambrienta.

For he satisfieth the longing soul, And the hungry soul he filleth with good.

10 M oradores de tinieblas y de sombra de muerte, prisioneros en miseria y en cadenas,

Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, Being bound in affliction and iron,

11 p orque fueron rebeldes a las palabras de Dios y despreciaron el consejo del Altísimo;

Because they rebelled against the words of God, And contemned the counsel of the Most High:

12 h umilló pues, sus corazones con trabajos, tropezaron y no hubo quien los socorriera.

Therefore he brought down their heart with labor; They fell down, and there was none to help.

13 E ntonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor y El los salvó de sus aflicciones;

Then they cried unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saved them out of their distresses.

14 l os sacó de las tinieblas y de la sombra de muerte y rompió sus ataduras.

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And brake their bonds in sunder.

15 D en gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 P orque El rompió las puertas de bronce e hizo pedazos las barras de hierro.

For he hath broken the gates of brass, And cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 P or causa de sus caminos rebeldes, y por causa de sus iniquidades, los insensatos fueron afligidos.

Fools because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 S u alma aborreció todo alimento, y se acercaron hasta las puertas de la muerte.

Their soul abhorreth all manner of food; And they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 E ntonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor y El los salvó de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 E l envió su palabra y los sanó y los libró de la muerte.

He sendeth his word, and healeth them, And delivereth them from their destructions.

21 D en gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 O frezcan también sacrificios de acción de gracias y pregonen sus obras con cantos de júbilo.

And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare his works with singing.

23 L os que descienden al mar en naves y hacen negocio sobre las grandes aguas,

They that go down to the sea in ships, That do business in great waters;

24 e llos han visto las obras del Señor y sus maravillas en lo profundo.

These see the works of Jehovah, And his wonders in the deep.

25 P ues El habló, y levantó un viento tempestuoso que encrespó las olas del mar.

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, Which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 S ubieron a los cielos, descendieron a las profundidades, sus almas se consumían por el mal.

They mount up to the heavens, they go down again to the depths: Their soul melteth away because of trouble.

27 T emblaban y se tambaleaban como ebrios, y toda su pericia desapareció.

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, And are at their wits' end.

28 E ntonces en su angustia clamaron al Señor y El los sacó de sus aflicciones.

Then they cry unto Jehovah in their trouble, And he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 C ambió la tempestad en calma y las olas del mar callaron.

He maketh the storm a calm, So that the waves thereof are still.

30 E ntonces se alegraron porque las olas se habían aquietado, y El los guió al puerto anhelado.

Then are they glad because they are quiet; So he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 D en gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.

Oh that men would praise Jehovah for his lovingkindness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 E xáltenle también en la congregación del pueblo, y alábenle en la reunión de los ancianos.

Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, And praise him in the seat of the elders.

33 E l convierte los ríos en desierto y los manantiales en secadales;

He turneth rivers into a wilderness, And watersprings into a thirsty ground;

34 l a tierra fértil en salinas, por la maldad de los que moran en ella.

A fruitful land into a salt desert, For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 T ransforma el desierto en estanque de aguas, y la tierra seca en manantiales;

He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, And a dry land into watersprings.

36 e n ella hace morar a los hambrientos, para que establezcan una ciudad donde vivir,

And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, That they may prepare a city of habitation,

37 y siembren campos, planten viñas, y recojan una cosecha abundante.

And sow fields, and plant vineyards, And get them fruits of increase.

38 L os bendice también y se multiplican mucho, y no disminuye su ganado.

He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; And he suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 C uando son disminuidos y abatidos por la opresión, la calamidad y la aflicción,

Again, they are diminished and bowed down Through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

40 v ierte desprecio sobre los príncipes, y los hace vagar por un yermo sin camino.

He poureth contempt upon princes, And causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.

41 P ero al pobre levanta de la miseria y lo pone seguro en alto, y multiplica sus familias como un rebaño.

Yet setteth he the needy on high from affliction, And maketh him families like a flock.

42 L os rectos lo ven y se alegran, pero toda iniquidad cierra su boca.

The upright shall see it, and be glad; And all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 ¿ Quién es sabio ? Que preste atención a estas cosas, y considere las bondades del Señor.
