1 Y El os dio vida a vosotros, que estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados,

And you did he make alive, when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins,

2 e n los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo según la corriente de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora opera en los hijos de desobediencia,

wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;

3 e ntre los cuales también todos nosotros en otro tiempo vivíamos en las pasiones de nuestra carne, satisfaciendo los deseos de la carne y de la mente, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los demás.

among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:--

4 P ero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por causa del gran amor con que nos amó,

but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 a un cuando estábamos muertos en nuestros delitos, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo (por gracia habéis sido salvados ),

even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),

6 y con El nos resucitó, y con El nos sentó en los lugares celestiales en Cristo Jesús,

and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus:

7 a fin de poder mostrar en los siglos venideros las sobreabundantes riquezas de su gracia por su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:

8 P orque por gracia habéis sido salvados por medio de la fe, y esto no de vosotros, sino que es don de Dios;

for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

9 n o por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

not of works, that no man should glory.

10 P orque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para hacer buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviéramos en ellas. En Cristo hay paz y unidad

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.

11 R ecordad, pues, que en otro tiempo vosotros los gentiles en la carne, llamados incircuncisión por la tal llamada circuncisión, hecha por manos en la carne,

Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;

12 r ecordad que en ese tiempo estabais separados de Cristo, excluidos de la ciudadanía de Israel, extraños a los pactos de la promesa, sin tener esperanza, y sin Dios en el mundo.

that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

13 P ero ahora en Cristo Jesús, vosotros, que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis sido acercados por la sangre de Cristo.

But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ.

14 P orque El mismo es nuestra paz, quien de ambos pueblos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación,

For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition,

15 a boliendo en su carne la enemistad, la ley de los mandamientos expresados en ordenanzas, para crear en sí mismo de los dos un nuevo hombre, estableciendo así la paz,

having abolished in the flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, so making peace;

16 y para reconciliar con Dios a los dos en un cuerpo por medio de la cruz, habiendo dado muerte en ella a la enemistad.

and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 Y vino y anuncio paz a vosotros que estabais lejos, y paz a los que estaban cerca;

and he came and preached peace to you that were far off, and peace to them that were nigh:

18 p orque por medio de El los unos y los otros tenemos nuestra entrada al Padre en un mismo Espíritu.

for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.

19 A sí pues, ya no sois extraños ni extranjeros, sino que sois conciudadanos de los santos y sois de la familia de Dios,

So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,

20 e dificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo Cristo Jesús mismo la piedra angular,

being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone;

21 e n quien todo el edificio, bien ajustado, va creciendo para ser un templo santo en el Señor,

in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;

22 e n quien también vosotros sois juntamente edificados para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.

in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
