1 Y como colaboradores con El, también os exhortamos a no recibir la gracia de Dios en vano;

And working together with him we entreat also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain

2 p ues El dice: En el tiempo propicio te escuche, y en el dia de salvacion te socorri. He aquí, ahora es el tiempo propicio; he aquí, ahora es el dia de salvacion.

(for he saith, At an acceptable time I hearkened unto thee, And in a day of salvation did I succor thee: behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation):

3 N o dando nosotros en nada motivo de tropiezo, para que el ministerio no sea desacreditado,

giving no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our ministration be not blamed;

4 s ino que en todo nos recomendamos a nosotros mismos como ministros de Dios, en mucha perseverancia, en aflicciones, en privaciones, en angustias,

but in everything commending ourselves, as ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

5 e n azotes, en cárceles, en tumultos, en trabajos, en desvelos, en ayunos,

in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;

6 e n pureza, en conocimiento, en paciencia, en bondad, en el Espíritu Santo, en amor sincero,

in pureness, in knowledge, in long suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in love unfeigned,

7 e n la palabra de verdad, en el poder de Dios; por armas de justicia para la derecha y para la izquierda;

in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

8 e n honra y en deshonra, en mala fama y en buena fama; como impostores, pero veraces;

by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

9 c omo desconocidos, pero bien conocidos; como moribundos, y he aquí, vivimos; como castigados, pero no condenados a muerte;

as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

10 c omo entristecidos, mas siempre gozosos; como pobres, pero enriqueciendo a muchos; como no teniendo nada, aunque poseyéndolo todo.

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

11 N uestra boca, oh corintios, os ha hablado con toda franqueza. Nuestro corazón se ha abierto de par en par.

Our mouth is open unto you, O Corinthians, our heart is enlarged.

12 N o estáis limitados por nosotros, sino que estáis limitados en vuestros sentimientos.

Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own affections.

13 A hora bien, en igual reciprocidad (os hablo como a niños ) vosotros también abrid de par en par vuestro corazón. Exhortaciones al creyente

Now for a recompense in like kind (I speak as unto my children), be ye also enlarged.

14 N o estéis unidos en yugo desigual con los incrédulos, pues ¿qué asociación tienen la justicia y la iniquidad? ¿O qué comunión la luz con las tinieblas ?

Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light with darkness?

15 ¿ O qué armonía tiene Cristo con Belial ? ¿O qué tiene en común un creyente con un incrédulo ?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever?

16 ¿ O qué acuerdo tiene el templo de Dios con los ídolos ? Porque nosotros somos el templo del Dios vivo, como Dios dijo: Habitare en ellos, y andare entre ellos; y sere su Dios, y ellos seran mi pueblo.

And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? for we are a temple of the living God; even as God said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 P or tanto, salid de en medio de ellos y apartaos, dice el Señor; y no toqueis lo inmundo, y yo os recibiré.

Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you,

18 Y yo seré para vosotros padre, y vosotros seréis para mí hijos e hijas, dice el Señor Todopoderoso.

And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
