1 E l Señor habló a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí, en la tienda de reunión, el primer día del segundo mes, en el segundo año de su salida de la tierra de Egipto, diciendo:

Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

2 H az un censo de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, todo varón, uno por uno;

“Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one;

3 d e veinte años arriba, todos los que pueden salir a la guerra en Israel, tú y Aarón los contaréis por sus ejércitos.

from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall number them by their divisions.

4 C on vosotros estará además, un hombre de cada tribu, cada uno jefe de su casa paterna.

With you there shall be a man of every tribe; everyone head of his fathers’ house.

5 E stos son los nombres de los hombres que estarán con vosotros: de Rubén, Elisur, hijo de Sedeur;

These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.

6 d e Simeón, Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai;

Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

7 d e Judá, Naasón, hijo de Aminadab;

Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

8 d e Isacar, Natanael, hijo de Zuar;

Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.

9 d e Zabulón, Eliab, hijo de Helón;

Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon.

10 d e los hijos de José: de Efraín, Elisama, hijo de Amiud, y de Manasés, Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur;

Of the children of Joseph: Of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud. Of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

11 d e Benjamín, Abidán, hijo de Gedeoni;

Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gideoni.

12 d e Dan, Ahiezer, hijo de Amisadai;

Of Dan: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

13 d e Aser, Pagiel, hijo de Ocrán;

Of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran.

14 d e Gad, Eliasaf, hijo de Deuel;

Of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

15 d e Neftalí, Ahira, hijo de Enán.

Of Naphtali: Ahira the son of Enan.”

16 E stos son los que fueron llamados de la congregación, los principales de las tribus de sus padres; ellos fueron los jefes de las divisiones de Israel.

These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.

17 E ntonces Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos hombres que habían sido designados por sus nombres,

Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name.

18 y reunieron a toda la congregación el primer día del mes segundo. Y se registraron según sus antepasados por familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, uno por uno.

They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.

19 T al como el Señor lo había mandado a Moisés, los contó en el desierto de Sinaí.

As Yahweh commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

20 D e los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

The children of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

21 l os enumerados de la tribu de Rubén fueron cuarenta y seis mil quinientos.

those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

22 D e los hijos de Simeón, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, sus enumerados, según el número de nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those who were numbered of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

23 l os enumerados de la tribu de Simeón fueron cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos.

those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

24 D e los hijos de Gad, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

25 l os enumerados de la tribu de Gad fueron cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta.

those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.

26 D e los hijos de Judá, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

27 l os enumerados de la tribu de Judá fueron setenta y cuatro mil seiscientos.

those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Judah, were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

28 D e los hijos de Isacar, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

29 l os enumerados de la tribu de Isacar fueron cincuenta y cuatro mil cuatrocientos.

those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

36 D e los hijos de Benjamín, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

41 l os enumerados de la tribu de Aser fueron cuarenta y un mil quinientos.

those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand five hundred.

42 D e los hijos de Neftalí, fueron contados por su registro genealógico, por sus familias, por sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra;

Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war;

43 l os enumerados de la tribu de Neftalí fueron cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.

those who were numbered of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty-three thousand four hundred.

44 E stos son los que fueron enumerados, los que Moisés y Aarón contaron con los jefes de Israel, doce hombres, cada uno de los cuales era jefe de su casa paterna.

These are those who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: they were each one for his fathers’ house.

45 Y todos los enumerados de los hijos de Israel por sus casas paternas, de veinte años arriba, todo el que podía salir a la guerra en Israel,

So all those who were numbered of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Israel;

46 f ueron seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta.

even all those who were numbered were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.

47 P ero los levitas no fueron enumerados con ellos según la tribu de sus padres.

But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.

48 P orque el Señor había hablado a Moisés, diciendo:

For Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

49 S olamente la tribu de Leví no enumerarás, ni los contarás con los hijos de Israel;

“Only the tribe of Levi you shall not number, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel;

50 s ino que pondrás a los levitas a cargo del tabernáculo del testimonio, de todos sus utensilios y de todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos llevarán el tabernáculo y todos sus utensilios, y lo cuidarán; además, acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo.

but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle, and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.

51 Y cuando el tabernáculo haya de ser trasladado, los levitas lo desarmarán; y cuando el tabernáculo acampe, los levitas lo armarán. Pero el extraño que se acerque, morirá.

When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.

52 Y acamparán los hijos de Israel, cada uno en su campamento, y cada uno junto a su bandera, según sus ejércitos.

The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.

53 P ero los levitas acamparán alrededor del tabernáculo del testimonio, para que no venga la ira sobre la congregación de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas, pues, tendrán a su cargo el tabernáculo del testimonio.

But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”

54 A sí hicieron los hijos de Israel; conforme a todo lo que el Señor había mandado a Moisés, así hicieron.

Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so they did.
