1 M anasés tenía doce años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y cinco años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Hepsiba.

Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.

2 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, conforme a las abominaciones de las naciones que el Señor había desposeído delante de los hijos de Israel.

He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

3 P orque reedificó los lugares altos que su padre Ezequías había destruido; levantó también altares a Baal e hizo una Asera, como había hecho Acab, rey de Israel, y adoró a todo el ejército de los cielos y los sirvió.

For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he raised up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel did, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.

4 E dificó además altares en la casa del Señor, de la cual el Señor había dicho: En Jerusalén pondré mi nombre.

He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.”

5 E dificó altares a todo el ejército de los cielos en los dos atrios de la casa del Señor.

He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of Yahweh’s house.

6 H izo pasar por fuego a su hijo, practicó la hechicería, usó la adivinación y trató con médium y espiritistas. Hizo mucho mal ante los ojos del Señor, provocándo le a ira.

He made his son to pass through the fire, practiced sorcery, used enchantments, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards. He did much evil in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger.

7 C olocó la imagen tallada de Asera que él había hecho, en la casa de la cual el Señor había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: En esta casa y en Jerusalén, que he escogido de entre todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre.

He set the engraved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which Yahweh said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever;

8 Y haré que nunca más los pies de Israel vaguen fuera de la tierra que di a sus padres, con tal de que cuiden de hacer conforme a todo lo que les he mandado, y conforme a toda la ley que mi siervo Moisés les ordenó.

I will not cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.”

9 P ero ellos no escucharon, y Manasés los hizo extraviar para que hicieran lo malo más que las naciones que el Señor había destruido delante de los hijos de Israel.

But they didn’t listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 Y habló el Señor por medio de sus siervos los profetas, diciendo:

Yahweh spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,

11 P or cuanto Manasés, rey de Judá, ha hecho estas abominaciones, habiendo hecho lo malo más que todo lo que hicieron los amorreos antes de él, haciendo pecar también a Judá con sus ídolos;

“Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has also made Judah to sin with his idols;

12 p or tanto, así dice el Señor, Dios de Israel: “He aquí, voy a traer tal calamidad sobre Jerusalén y Judá, que a todo el que oiga de ello le retiñirán ambos oídos.

therefore Yahweh the God of Israel says, ‘Behold, I bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.

13 “ Extenderé sobre Jerusalén el cordel de Samaria y la plomada de la casa de Acab, y limpiaré a Jerusalén como se limpia un plato, limpiándolo y volviéndolo boca abajo.

I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of Ahab’s house; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

14 “ Abandonaré al remanente de mi heredad y los entregaré en mano de sus enemigos, y serán para presa y despojo para todos sus enemigos;

I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance, and deliver them into the hands of their enemies. They will become a prey and a plunder to all their enemies,

15 p orque han hecho lo malo ante mis ojos, y han estado provocándome a ira desde el día en que sus padres salieron de Egipto, hasta el día de hoy.”

because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”

16 A demás, Manasés derramó muchísima sangre inocente hasta llenar a Jerusalén de un extremo a otro, aparte de su pecado con el que hizo pecar a Judá para que hiciera lo malo ante los ojos del Señor.

Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; besides his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight.

17 L os demás hechos de Manasés, todo lo que hizo y el pecado que cometió, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

18 Y durmió Manasés con sus padres, y fue sepultado en el jardín de su casa, en el jardín de Uza; y su hijo Amón reinó en su lugar. Reinado de Amón

Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his place.

19 A món tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó dos años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Mesulemet, hija de Haruz, de Jotba.

Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.

20 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como había hecho su padre Manasés.

He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as Manasseh his father did.

21 P ues anduvo en todo el camino en que su padre había andado, sirvió a los ídolos a los que su padre había servido y los adoró.

He walked in all the ways that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshiped them;

22 Y abandonó al Señor, el Dios de sus padres, y no anduvo en el camino del Señor.

and he abandoned Yahweh, the God of his fathers, and didn’t walk in the way of Yahweh.

23 Y conspiraron contra él los siervos de Amón y mataron al rey en su casa.

The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.

24 P ero el pueblo de la tierra mató a todos los que habían conspirado contra el rey Amón, y en su lugar el pueblo de la tierra hizo rey a su hijo Josías.

But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

25 L os demás hechos que Amón hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

26 Y fue sepultado en su sepulcro en el jardín de Uza; y su hijo Josías reinó en su lugar.

He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza, and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
