1 E n aquel tiempo —declara el Señor — yo seré el Dios de todas las familias de Israel, y ellos serán mi pueblo.

At that time, says Yahweh, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

2 A sí dice el Señor: Ha hallado gracia en el desierto el pueblo que escapó de la espada, Israel, cuando iba en busca de su reposo.

Yahweh says, The people who were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

3 D esde lejos el Señor se le apareció, diciendo: Con amor eterno te he amado, por eso te he atraído con misericordia.

Yahweh appeared of old to me, saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you.

4 D e nuevo te edificaré, y serás reedificada, virgen de Israel; de nuevo tomarás tus panderos, y saldrás a las danzas con los que se divierten.

Again will I build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel: again you shall be adorned with your tambourines, and shall go out in the dances of those who make merry.

5 D e nuevo plantarás viñas en los montes de Samaria; los plantadores las plantarán y las disfrutarán.

Again you shall plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant, and shall enjoy its fruit.

6 P orque habrá un día en que clamarán los guardas en la región montañosa de Efraín: “Levantaos y subamos a Sion, al Señor nuestro Dios.”

For there shall be a day, that the watchmen on the hills of Ephraim shall cry, Arise, and let us go up to Zion to Yahweh our God.

7 P orque así dice el Señor: Gritad con alegría por Jacob, y dad voces por la primera de las naciones; proclamad, dad alabanza, y decid: “Oh Señor, salva a tu pueblo, al remanente de Israel.”

For Yahweh says, Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout for the chief of the nations: publish, praise, and say, Yahweh, save your people, the remnant of Israel.

8 H e aquí, yo los traigo del país del norte, y los reuniré de los confines de la tierra, entre ellos los ciegos y los cojos, la mujer encinta y también la que está dando a luz; una gran compañía volverá acá.

Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the uttermost parts of the earth, along with the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her who travails with child together: a great company shall they return here.

9 C on llanto vendrán, y entre súplicas los guiaré; los haré andar junto a arroyos de aguas, por camino derecho en el cual no tropezarán; porque soy un padre para Israel, y Efraín es mi primogénito.

They shall come with weeping; and with petitions will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

10 O íd, naciones, la palabra del Señor, anunciad en las costas lejanas, y decid: El que dispersó a Israel lo reunirá, y lo guardará como un pastor a su rebaño.

Hear Yahweh’s word, you nations, and declare it in the islands afar off; and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.

11 P orque el Señor ha rescatado a Jacob, y lo ha redimido de manos más fuertes que él.

For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.

12 V endrán y gritarán de júbilo en lo alto de Sion, y radiarán de gozo por la bondad del Señor: por el grano, por el vino y por el aceite, y por las crías de las ovejas y de las vacas. Su alma será como huerto regado, y nunca más languidecerán.

They shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow to the goodness of Yahweh, to the grain, and to the new wine, and to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

13 E ntonces la virgen se alegrará en la danza, y los jóvenes y los ancianos a una; cambiaré su duelo en gozo, los consolaré y los alegraré de su tristeza.

Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

14 Y llenaré con abundancia el alma de los sacerdotes, y mi pueblo se saciará de mi bondad —declara el Señor.

I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, says Yahweh.

15 A sí dice el Señor: Se oye una voz en Ramá, lamento y llanto amargo. Raquel llora por sus hijos; rehúsa ser consolada, por sus hijos que ya no existen.

Yahweh says: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.

16 A sí dice el Señor: Reprime tu voz del llanto, y tus ojos de las lágrimas; hay pago para tu trabajo —declara el Señor —, pues volverán de la tierra del enemigo.

Yahweh says: Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work shall be rewarded, says Yahweh; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

17 Y hay esperanza para tu porvenir —declara el Señor —, los hijos volverán a su territorio.

There is hope for your latter end, says Yahweh; and your children shall come again to their own border.

18 C iertamente he oído a Efraín lamentarse: “Me has castigado, y castigado fui como becerro indómito. Hazme volver para que sea restaurado, pues tú, Señor, eres mi Dios.

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, as an untrained calf: turn me, and I shall be turned; for you are Yahweh my God.

19 “ Porque después que me aparté, me arrepentí, y después que comprendí, me di golpes en el muslo; me avergoncé y también me humillé, porque llevaba el oprobio de mi juventud.”

Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I struck on my thigh: I was ashamed, yes, even confounded, because I bore the reproach of my youth.

20 ¿ No es Efraín mi hijo amado? ¿No es un niño encantador? Pues siempre que hablo contra él, lo recuerdo aún más; por eso mis entrañas se conmueven por él, ciertamente tendré de él misericordia —declara el Señor.

Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a darling child? for as often as I speak against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says Yahweh.

21 L evanta para ti señales, coloca para ti majanos; presta atención a la calzada, al camino que anduviste. Vuelve, virgen de Israel, vuelve a estas tus ciudades.

Set up road signs, make guideposts; set your heart toward the highway, even the way by which you went: turn again, virgin of Israel, turn again to these your cities.

22 ¿ Hasta cuándo andarás errante, hija infiel ? Porque el Señor ha creado algo nuevo en la tierra: la mujer rodeará al hombre.

How long will you go here and there, you backsliding daughter? for Yahweh has created a new thing in the earth: a woman shall encompass a man.

23 A sí dice el Señor de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: Otra vez hablarán esta palabra en la tierra de Judá y en sus ciudades, cuando yo restaure su bienestar: “El Señor te bendiga, morada de justicia, monte santo.”

Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Yet again shall they use this speech in the land of Judah and in its cities, when I shall bring again their captivity: Yahweh bless you, habitation of righteousness, mountain of holiness.

24 Y morarán juntamente en ella Judá y todas sus ciudades, los labradores y los que van con los rebaños.

Judah and all its cities shall dwell therein together, the farmers, and those who go about with flocks.

25 P orque yo he de satisfacer al alma cansada y he de saciar a toda alma atribulada.

For I have satiated the weary soul, and every sorrowful soul have I replenished.

26 E n esto me desperté y miré, y mi sueño me resultó agradable. El nuevo pacto

On this I awakened, and saw; and my sleep was sweet to me.

27 H e aquí, vienen días —declara el Señor — en que sembraré la casa de Israel y la casa de Judá de simiente de hombre y de simiente de animal.

Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of animal.

28 Y como velé sobre ellos para arrancar y para derribar, para derrocar, para destruir y para traer calamidad, así velaré sobre ellos para edificar y para plantar —declara el Señor.

It shall happen that, like as I have watched over them to pluck up and to break down and to overthrow and to destroy and to afflict, so will I watch over them to build and to plant, says Yahweh.

29 E n aquellos días no dirán más: “Los padres comieron uvas agrias, y los dientes de los hijos tienen dentera ”,

In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.

30 s ino que cada cual por su propia iniquidad morirá; los dientes de todo hombre que coma uvas agrias tendrán dentera.

But everyone shall die for his own iniquity: every man who eats the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.

31 H e aquí, vienen días —declara el Señor — en que haré con la casa de Israel y con la casa de Judá un nuevo pacto,

Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 n o como el pacto que hice con sus padres el día que los tomé de la mano para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto, mi pacto que ellos rompieron, aunque fui un esposo para ellos —declara el Señor;

not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Yahweh.

33 p orque este es el pacto que haré con la casa de Israel después de aquellos días —declara el Señor —. Pondré mi ley dentro de ellos, y sobre sus corazones la escribiré; y yo seré su Dios y ellos serán mi pueblo.

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people:

34 Y no tendrán que enseñar más cada uno a su prójimo y cada cual a su hermano, diciendo: “Conoce al Señor ”, porque todos me conocerán, desde el más pequeño de ellos hasta el más grande —declara el Señor — pues perdonaré su maldad, y no recordaré más su pecado.

and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from their least to their greatest, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

35 A sí dice el Señor, el que da el sol para luz del día, y las leyes de la luna y de las estrellas para luz de la noche, el que agita el mar para que bramen sus olas; el Señor de los ejércitos es su nombre:

Yahweh, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar; Yahweh of Armies is his name, says:

36 S i se apartan estas leyes de mi presencia —declara el Señor — también la descendencia de Israel dejará de ser nación en mi presencia para siempre.

If these ordinances depart from before me, says Yahweh, then the offspring of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.

37 A sí dice el Señor: Si los cielos arriba pueden medirse, y explorarse abajo los cimientos de la tierra, también yo desecharé toda la descendencia de Israel por todo lo que hicieron —declara el Señor.

Yahweh says: If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then I will also cast off all the offspring of Israel for all that they have done, says Yahweh.

38 H e aquí, vienen días —declara el Señor — en que la ciudad será reedificada para el Señor, desde la torre de Hananeel hasta la puerta del Angulo.

Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that the city shall be built to Yahweh from the tower of Hananel to the gate of the corner.

39 Y el cordel de medir saldrá más allá, directamente hasta la colina de Gareb, y girará hasta Goa.

The measuring line shall go out further straight onward to the hill Gareb, and shall turn about to Goah.

40 Y todo el valle de los cadáveres y de las cenizas, y todos los campos hasta el arroyo Cedrón, hasta la esquina de la puerta de los Caballos hacia el oriente, serán santos al Señor. La ciudad no será arrancada ni derribada nunca jamás.

The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields to the brook Kidron, to the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy to Yahweh; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever.
