1 T hat which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we beheld, and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life

Lo que existía desde el principio, lo que hemos oído, lo que hemos visto con nuestros ojos, lo que hemos contemplado y lo que han palpado nuestras manos, acerca del Verbo de vida

2 ( and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare unto you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us);

(pues la vida fue manifestada, y nosotros la hemos visto y damos testimonio y os anunciamos la vida eterna, la cual estaba con el Padre y se nos manifestó );

3 t hat which we have seen and heard declare we unto you also, that ye also may have fellowship with us: yea, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ:

lo que hemos visto y oído, os proclamamos también a vosotros, para que también vosotros tengáis comunión con nosotros; y en verdad nuestra comunión es con el Padre y con su Hijo Jesucristo.

4 a nd these things we write, that our joy may be made full.

Os escribimos estas cosas para que nuestro gozo sea completo. Dios es luz

5 A nd this is the message which we have heard from him and announce unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Y este es el mensaje que hemos oído de El y que os anunciamos: Dios es luz, y en El no hay tiniebla alguna.

6 I f we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

Si decimos que tenemos comunión con El, pero andamos en tinieblas, mentimos y no practicamos la verdad;

7 b ut if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

mas si andamos en la luz, como El está en la luz, tenemos comunión los unos con los otros, y la sangre de Jesús su Hijo nos limpia de todo pecado.

8 I f we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Si decimos que no tenemos pecado, nos engañamos a nosotros mismos y la verdad no está en nosotros.

9 I f we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Si confesamos nuestros pecados, El es fiel y justo para perdonarnos los pecados y para limpiarnos de toda maldad.

10 I f we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Si decimos que no hemos pecado, le hacemos a El mentiroso y su palabra no está en nosotros.
