1 A nd the word of Jehovah came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

2 F orasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel, and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;

Por cuanto te levanté del polvo y te hice príncipe sobre mi pueblo Israel, y has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar a mi pueblo Israel provocándome a ira con sus pecados,

3 b ehold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

he aquí, consumiré a Baasa y a su casa, y haré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat.

4 H im that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth of his in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat.

El que de Baasa muera en la ciudad, se lo comerán los perros, y el que de él muera en el campo, se lo comerán las aves del cielo.

5 N ow the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos de Baasa, lo que hizo y su poderío, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

6 A nd Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

Y durmió Baasa con sus padres y fue sepultado en Tirsa; y su hijo Ela reinó en su lugar.

7 A nd moreover by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of Jehovah against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he smote him.

También fue la palabra del Señor por medio del profeta Jehú, hijo de Hananí, contra Baasa y su casa, no sólo por todo el mal que hizo ante los ojos del Señor, provocándole a ira con la obra de sus manos, siendo semejante a la casa de Jeroboam, sino también por haber destruido a ésta. Reinados de Ela, Zimri y Omri

8 I n the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, and reigned two years.

En el año veintiséis de Asa, rey de Judá, Ela, hijo de Baasa, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en Tirsa y reinó dos años.

9 A nd his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah:

Y su siervo Zimri, comandante de la mitad de sus carros, conspiró contra él. Y Ela estaba en Tirsa bebiendo hasta emborracharse en la casa de Arsa, que era mayordomo de la casa en Tirsa.

10 a nd Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.

Entonces Zimri entró, lo hirió, y le dio muerte, en el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.

11 A nd it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he smote all the house of Baasha: he left him not a single man-child, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.

Y sucedió que cuando comenzó a reinar, tan pronto como se sentó en su trono, mató a toda la casa de Baasa; no dejó ni un solo varón, ni de sus parientes ni de sus amigos.

12 T hus did Zimri destroy all the house of Baasha, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,

Así Zimri destruyó toda la casa de Baasa, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú,

13 f or all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and wherewith they made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

por todos los pecados de Baasa y por los pecados de su hijo Ela, con los cuales pecaron y con los que hicieron pecar a Israel, provocando a ira con sus ídolos al Señor, Dios de Israel.

14 N ow the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos de Ela y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

15 I n the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah did Zimri reign seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

En el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, Zimri reinó siete días en Tirsa. Y el pueblo estaba acampado contra Gibetón, que pertenecía a los filisteos.

16 A nd the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also smitten the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.

El pueblo que estaba acampado oyó decir: Zimri ha conspirado y también ha matado al rey. Entonces, ese mismo día en el campamento, todo Israel hizo a Omri, comandante del ejército, rey sobre Israel.

17 A nd Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

Entonces Omri subió desde Gibetón, y todo Israel con él, y sitiaron a Tirsa.

18 A nd it came to pass, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king's house, and burnt the king's house over him with fire, and died,

Y sucedió que cuando Zimri vio que la ciudad era tomada, entró en la ciudadela de la casa del rey, prendió fuego sobre sí a la casa del rey y murió,

19 f or his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.

a causa de los pecados que había cometido, haciendo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, andando en el camino de Jeroboam, y por el pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar a Israel.

20 N ow the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos de Zimri, y la conspiración que llevó a cabo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

21 T hen were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.

Entonces el pueblo de Israel se dividió en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo siguió a Tibni, hijo de Ginat, para hacerle rey; la otra mitad siguió a Omri.

22 B ut the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

Pero el pueblo que siguió a Omri prevaleció sobre el pueblo que siguió a Tibni, hijo de Ginat. Y Tibni murió, y Omri comenzó a reinar.

23 I n the thirty and first year of Asa king of Judah began Omri to reign over Israel, and reigned twelve years: six years reigned he in Tirzah.

En el año treinta y uno de Asa, rey de Judá, Omri comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó doce años; seis años reinó en Tirsa.

24 A nd he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.

Y compró a Semer el monte Samaria por dos talentos de plata; edificó sobre el monte, y a la ciudad que edificó puso por nombre Samaria, del nombre de Semer, dueño del monte.

25 A nd Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and dealt wickedly above all that were before him.

Y Omri hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, y obró más perversamente que todos los que fueron antes que él;

26 F or he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.

pues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y en los pecados con que hizo pecar a Israel, provocando al Señor, Dios de Israel, con sus ídolos.

27 N ow the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

Los demás hechos que Omri hizo y el poderío que mostró ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

28 S o Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.

Y durmió Omri con sus padres y fue sepultado en Samaria; y su hijo Acab reinó en su lugar. Reinado de Acab

29 A nd in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.

Acab, hijo de Omri, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el año treinta y ocho de Asa, rey de Judá, y reinó Acab, hijo de Omri, sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años.

30 A nd Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah above all that were before him.

Y Acab, hijo de Omri, hizo lo malo a los ojos del Señor más que todos los que fueron antes que él.

31 A nd it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him.

Y como si fuera poco el andar en los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, tomó por mujer a Jezabel, hija de Et-baal, rey de los sidonios, y fue a servir a Baal y lo adoró.

32 A nd he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

Y edificó un altar a Baal en la casa de Baal que edificó en Samaria.

33 A nd Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke Jehovah, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.

Acab hizo también una Asera. Así Acab hizo más para provocar al Señor, Dios de Israel, que todos los reyes de Israel que fueron antes que él.

34 I n his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof with the loss of Abiram his first-born, and set up the gates thereof with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun.

En su tiempo Hiel de Betel reedificó Jericó; a costa de la vida de Abiram su primogénito puso sus cimientos, y a costa de la vida de su hijo menor Segub levantó sus puertas, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado por Josué, hijo de Nun.
