1 T herefore thou shalt love Jehovah thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments, alway.

Amarás, pues, al Señor tu Dios, y guardarás siempre sus mandatos, sus estatutos, sus ordenanzas y sus mandamientos.

2 A nd know ye this day: for I speak not with your children that have not known, and that have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm,

Y comprended hoy que no estoy hablando con vuestros hijos, los cuales no han visto la disciplina del Señor vuestro Dios: su grandeza, su mano poderosa, su brazo extendido,

3 a nd his signs, and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;

sus señales y sus obras que hizo en medio de Egipto a Faraón, rey de Egipto, y a toda su tierra;

4 a nd what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how Jehovah hath destroyed them unto this day;

lo que hizo al ejército de Egipto, a sus caballos y a sus carros, al hacer que el agua del mar Rojo los cubriera cuando os perseguían, y el Señor los destruyó completamente;

5 a nd what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came unto this place;

lo que os hizo en el desierto hasta que llegasteis a este lugar,

6 a nd what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the midst of all Israel:

y lo que hizo a Datán y Abiram, los hijos de Eliab, hijo de Rubén, cuando la tierra abrió su boca y los tragó a ellos, a sus familias, a sus tiendas y a todo ser viviente que los seguía, en medio de todo Israel.

7 b ut your eyes have seen all the great work of Jehovah which he did.

Pero vuestros propios ojos han visto toda la gran obra que el Señor ha hecho. Obediencia y recompensa

8 T herefore shall ye keep all the commandment which I command thee this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go over to possess it;

Guardad, pues, todos los mandamientos que os ordeno hoy, para que seáis fuertes, y entréis y toméis posesión de la tierra a la cual entráis para poseerla;

9 a nd that ye may prolong your days in the land, which Jehovah sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.

para que prolonguéis vuestros días en la tierra que el Señor juró dar a vuestros padres y a su descendencia, una tierra que mana leche y miel.

10 F or the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs;

Porque la tierra a la cual entras para poseerla, no es como la tierra de Egipto de donde vinisteis, donde sembrabas tu semilla, y la regabas con el pie como una huerta de hortalizas,

11 b ut the land, whither ye go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven,

sino que la tierra a la cual entráis para poseerla, tierra de montes y valles, bebe el agua de las lluvias del cielo.

12 a land which Jehovah thy God careth for: the eyes of Jehovah thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

Es una tierra que el Señor tu Dios cuida; los ojos del Señor tu Dios están siempre sobre ella, desde el principio hasta el fin del año.

13 A nd it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Jehovah your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

Y sucederá que si obedecéis mis mandamientos que os ordeno hoy, de amar al Señor vuestro Dios y de servirle con todo vuestro corazón y con toda vuestra alma,

14 t hat I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy grain, and thy new wine, and thine oil.

El dará a vuestra tierra la lluvia a su tiempo, lluvia temprana y lluvia tardía, para que recojas tu grano, tu mosto y tu aceite.

15 A nd I will give grass in thy fields for thy cattle, and thou shalt eat and be full.

Y El dará hierba en tus campos para tu ganado, y comerás y te saciarás.

16 T ake heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

Cuidaos, no sea que se engañe vuestro corazón y os desviéis y sirváis a otros dioses, y los adoréis.

17 a nd the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he shut up the heavens, so that there shall be no rain, and the land shall not yield its fruit; and ye perish quickly from off the good land which Jehovah giveth you.

No sea que la ira del Señor se encienda contra vosotros, y cierre los cielos y no haya lluvia y la tierra no produzca su fruto, y pronto perezcáis en la buena tierra que el Señor os da.

18 T herefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and ye shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

Grabad, pues, estas mis palabras en vuestro corazón y en vuestra alma; atadlas como una señal a vuestra mano, y serán por insignias entre vuestros ojos.

19 A nd ye shall teach them your children, talking of them, when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Y enseñadlas a vuestros hijos, hablando de ellas cuando te sientes en tu casa y cuando andes por el camino, cuando te acuestes y cuando te levantes.

20 A nd thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates;

Y escríbelas en los postes de tu casa y en tus puertas,

21 t hat your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.

para que tus días y los días de tus hijos sean multiplicados en la tierra que el Señor juró dar a tus padres, por todo el tiempo que los cielos permanezcan sobre la tierra.

22 F or if ye shall diligently keep all this commandment which I command you, to do it, to love Jehovah your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

Porque si guardáis cuidadosamente todo este mandamiento que os ordeno para cumplirlo, amando al Señor vuestro Dios, andando en todos sus caminos y allegándoos a El,

23 t hen will Jehovah drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.

entonces el Señor expulsará de delante de vosotros a todas estas naciones, y vosotros desposeeréis a naciones más grandes y más poderosas que vosotros.

24 E very place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea shall be your border.

Todo lugar donde pise la planta de vuestro pie será vuestro; vuestras fronteras serán desde el desierto hasta el Líbano, y desde el río, el río Eufrates, hasta el mar occidental.

25 T here shall no man be able to stand before you: Jehovah your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath spoken unto you.

Nadie os podrá hacer frente; el Señor vuestro Dios infundirá, como El os ha dicho, espanto y temor de vosotros en toda la tierra que pise vuestro pie.

26 B ehold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

He aquí, hoy pongo delante de vosotros una bendición y una maldición:

27 t he blessing, if ye shall hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you this day;

la bendición, si escucháis los mandamientos del Señor vuestro Dios que os ordeno hoy;

28 a nd the curse, if ye shall not hearken unto the commandments of Jehovah your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

y la maldición, si no escucháis los mandamientos del Señor vuestro Dios, sino que os apartáis del camino que os ordeno hoy, para seguir a otros dioses que no habéis conocido.

29 A nd it shall come to pass, when Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt set the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.

Y acontecerá, que cuando el Señor tu Dios te lleve a la tierra donde entras para poseerla, pondrás la bendición sobre el monte Gerizim y la maldición sobre el monte Ebal.

30 A re they not beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites that dwell in the Arabah, over against Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?

¿No están ellos al otro lado del Jordán, detrás del camino del poniente, en la tierra de los cananeos que habitan en el Arabá, frente a Gilgal, junto al encinar de More ?

31 F or ye are to pass over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Jehovah your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.

Porque vais a pasar el Jordán para ir a poseer la tierra que el Señor vuestro Dios os da, y la tomaréis y habitaréis en ella;

32 A nd ye shall observe to do all the statutes and the ordinances which I set before you this day.

y tendréis cuidado de cumplir todos los estatutos y decretos que hoy pongo delante de vosotros.
