1 M oreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah's house, which looketh eastward: and behold, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

Entonces el Espíritu me levantó y me llevó a la puerta oriental de la casa del Señor que mira al oriente. Y he aquí, a la entrada de la puerta había veinticinco hombres, y entre ellos vi a Jaazanías, hijo de Azur, y a Pelatías, hijo de Benaía, jefes del pueblo.

2 A nd he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and that give wicked counsel in this city;

Y El me dijo: Hijo de hombre, estos son los hombres que maquinan iniquidad y dan malos consejos en esta ciudad,

3 t hat say, The time is not near to build houses: this city is the caldron, and we are the flesh.

los cuales dicen: “¿No está cerca el tiempo de edificar casas? Esta ciudad es la olla y nosotros la carne.”

4 T herefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

Por tanto, profetiza contra ellos, profetiza, hijo de hombre.

5 A nd the Spirit of Jehovah fell upon me, and he said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

Entonces el Espíritu del Señor cayó sobre mí, y me dijo: Di: “Así dice el Señor: ‘Así habéis dicho, casa de Israel, yo conozco vuestros pensamientos.

6 Y e have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.

‘Habéis multiplicado vuestros muertos en esta ciudad, habéis llenado sus calles de muertos.’

7 T herefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron; but ye shall be brought forth out of the midst of it.

“Por tanto, así dice el Señor Dios: ‘Vuestros muertos, los que habéis dejado en medio de la ciudad, son la carne, y ella es la olla; pero yo os sacaré de ella.

8 Y e have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

‘Habéis temido la espada, y espada traeré sobre vosotros ’ —declara el Señor Dios.

9 A nd I will bring you forth out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

‘Y os sacaré de en medio de la ciudad, os entregaré en manos de extraños y traeré juicios contra vosotros.

10 Y e shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

‘A espada caeréis; en los confines de Israel os juzgaré; y sabréis que yo soy el Señor.

11 T his city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; I will judge you in the border of Israel;

‘Esta ciudad no será olla para vosotros, ni vosotros seréis carne en medio de ella; hacia los confines de Israel os juzgaré.

12 a nd ye shall know that I am Jehovah: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither have ye executed mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you.

‘Y sabréis que yo soy el Señor; porque no habéis andado en mis estatutos ni habéis ejecutado mis ordenanzas, sino que habéis obrado conforme a las costumbres de las naciones que os rodean.’”

13 A nd it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

Y sucedió que mientras yo profetizaba, Pelatías, hijo de Benaía, murió. Entonces caí sobre mi rostro, y clamé a gran voz y dije: ¡Ah, Señor Dios! ¿Vas a acabar por completo con el remanente de Israel ?

14 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Entonces vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:

15 S on of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from Jehovah; unto us is this land given for a possession.

Hijo de hombre, tus hermanos, tus parientes, los hombres en el destierro contigo y toda la casa de Israel, todos ellos, son aquellos a quienes los habitantes de Jerusalén han dicho: “Alejaos del Señor; a nosotros se nos ha dado esta tierra en posesión.”

16 T herefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they are come.

Por tanto, di: “Así dice el Señor Dios: ‘Aunque yo los había echado lejos entre las naciones, y aunque yo los había dispersado por las tierras, sin embargo fui para ellos un santuario por poco tiempo en las tierras adonde habían ido.’”

17 T herefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.

Por tanto di: “Así dice el Señor Dios: ‘Yo os recogeré de entre los pueblos y os reuniré de las tierras entre las cuales habéis sido dispersados, y os daré la tierra de Israel.’”

18 A nd they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.

Cuando lleguen allí, quitarán de ella todas sus cosas detestables y todas sus abominaciones.

19 A nd I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;

Yo les daré un solo corazón y pondré un espíritu nuevo dentro de ellos. Y quitaré de su carne el corazón de piedra y les daré un corazón de carne,

20 t hat they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

para que anden en mis estatutos, guarden mis ordenanzas y los cumplan. Entonces serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios.

21 B ut as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Pero en cuanto a aquellos cuyo corazón va detrás de sus cosas detestables y abominaciones, haré recaer su conducta sobre su cabeza —declara el Señor Dios.

22 T hen did the cherubim lift up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

Entonces los querubines alzaron sus alas con las ruedas a su lado, y la gloria del Dios de Israel estaba por encima, sobre ellos.

23 A nd the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

La gloria del Señor se elevó de en medio de la ciudad, y se detuvo sobre el monte que está al oriente de la ciudad.

24 A nd the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

Y el Espíritu me levantó y me llevó a Caldea, a los desterrados, en visión por el Espíritu de Dios. Y se alejó de mí la visión que había visto.

25 T hen I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that Jehovah had showed me.

Entonces hablé a los desterrados de todas las cosas que el Señor me había mostrado.
