1 M oses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandment which I command you today.

Moisés y los ancianos de Israel dieron orden al pueblo y dijeron: “Guarden todos los mandamientos que yo les ordeno hoy.

2 I t shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and coat them with plaster.

El día que pasen el Jordán a la tierra que el Señor tu Dios te da, levantarás para ti piedras grandes, y las blanquearás con cal,

3 Y ou shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over; that you may go in to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

y escribirás en ellas todas las palabras de esta ley, cuando hayas pasado, para entrar en la tierra que el Señor tu Dios te da, una tierra que mana leche y miel, tal como el Señor, el Dios de tus padres te prometió.

4 I t shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan, that you shall set up these stones, which I command you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall coat them with plaster.

Así que cuando pases el Jordán, levantarás estas piedras en el Monte Ebal, como yo te ordeno hoy, y las blanquearás con cal.

5 T here you shall build an altar to Yahweh your God, an altar of stones. You shall not use any iron tool on them.

Además, edificarás allí un altar al Señor tu Dios, un altar de piedras; pero no alzarás sobre ellas herramientas de hierro.

6 Y ou shall build the altar of Yahweh your God of uncut stones. You shall offer burnt offerings on it to Yahweh your God.

Construirás el altar del Señor tu Dios de piedras enteras; y sobre él ofrecerás holocaustos al Señor tu Dios;

7 Y ou shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there. You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God.

y sacrificarás ofrendas de paz y comerás allí, y te alegrarás delante del Señor tu Dios.

8 Y ou shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”

Escribirás claramente en las piedras todas las palabras de esta ley.”

9 M oses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, “Be silence, and listen, Israel! Today you have become the people of Yahweh your God.

Entonces Moisés y los sacerdotes Levitas dijeron a todo Israel: “Guarda silencio y escucha, oh Israel. Hoy te has convertido en pueblo del Señor tu Dios.

10 Y ou shall therefore obey Yahweh your God’s voice, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command you today.”

Por tanto, obedecerás al Señor tu Dios, y cumplirás Sus mandamientos y Sus estatutos que hoy te ordeno.” Las Maldiciones

11 M oses commanded the people the same day, saying,

También aquel día Moisés ordenó al pueblo:

12 “ These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have crossed over the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

“Cuando pases el Jordán, estas tribus estarán sobre el Monte Gerizim para bendecir al pueblo: Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar, José y Benjamín.

13 T hese shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

Y para la maldición, estas tribus estarán en el Monte Ebal: Rubén, Gad, Aser, Zabulón, Dan y Neftalí.

14 W ith a loud voice, the Levites shall say to all the men of Israel,

Entonces los Levitas responderán y dirán en alta voz a todos los hombres de Israel:

15 ‘ Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to Yahweh, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el hombre que haga ídolo o imagen de fundición, abominación al Señor, obra de las manos del artífice, y la erige en secreto.’ Y todo el pueblo responderá, y dirá: ‘Amén.’

16 ‘ Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que desprecie a su padre o a su madre.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

17 ‘ Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s landmark.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que cambie el lindero de su vecino.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

18 ‘ Cursed is he who leads the blind astray on the road.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que haga errar al ciego en el camino.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

19 ‘ Cursed is he who withholds justice from the foreigner, fatherless, and widow.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que pervierta el derecho del extranjero, del huérfano y de la viuda.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

20 ‘ Cursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, because he dishonors his father’s bed.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que se acueste con la mujer de su padre, porque ha descubierto lo que es de su padre.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

21 ‘ Cursed is he who lies with any kind of animal.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que se eche con cualquier animal.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

22 ‘ Cursed is he who lies with his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que se acueste con su hermana, la hija de su padre o de su madre.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

23 ‘ Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que se acueste con su suegra.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

24 ‘ Cursed is he who secretly kills his neighbor.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que hiera a su vecino secretamente.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

25 ‘ Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Maldito el que acepte soborno para quitar la vida a un inocente.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’

26 ‘ Cursed is he who doesn’t uphold the words of this law by doing them.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’”

Maldito el que no confirme las palabras de esta ley para ponerlas por obra.’ Y todo el pueblo dirá: ‘Amén.’”
