1 W hat shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

¿Qué diremos, entonces ? ¿Continuaremos en pecado para que la gracia abunde ?

2 M ay it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?

¡De ningún modo! Nosotros, que hemos muerto al pecado, ¿cómo viviremos aún en él ?

3 O r don’t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

¿O no saben ustedes que todos los que hemos sido bautizados en Cristo Jesús, hemos sido bautizados en Su muerte?

4 W e were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

Por tanto, hemos sido sepultados con El por medio del bautismo para muerte, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en novedad de vida.

5 F or if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;

Porque si hemos sido unidos a Cristo en la semejanza de Su muerte, ciertamente lo seremos también en la semejanza de Su resurrección.

6 k nowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

Sabemos esto, que nuestro viejo hombre fue crucificado con Cristo, para que nuestro cuerpo de pecado fuera destruido, a fin de que ya no seamos esclavos del pecado;

7 F or he who has died has been freed from sin.

porque el que ha muerto, ha sido libertado del pecado.

8 B ut if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;

Y si hemos muerto con Cristo, creemos que también viviremos con El,

9 k nowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him!

sabiendo que Cristo, habiendo resucitado de entre los muertos, no volverá a morir; la muerte ya no tiene dominio sobre El.

10 F or the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.

Porque en cuanto a que El murió, murió al pecado de una vez para siempre; pero en cuanto El vive, vive para Dios.

11 T hus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Así también ustedes, considérense muertos para el pecado, pero vivos para Dios en Cristo Jesús. Siervos, no del Pecado, sino de la Justicia

12 T herefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

Por tanto, no reine el pecado en su cuerpo mortal para que ustedes no obedezcan a sus lujurias;

13 A lso, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

ni presenten los miembros de su cuerpo al pecado como instrumentos de iniquidad, sino preséntense ustedes mismos a Dios como vivos de entre los muertos, y sus miembros a Dios como instrumentos de justicia.

14 F or sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

Porque el pecado no tendrá dominio sobre ustedes, pues no están bajo la ley sino bajo la gracia. Libertados del Pecado

15 W hat then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law, but under grace? May it never be!

¿Entonces qué? ¿Pecaremos porque no estamos bajo la ley, sino bajo la gracia ? ¡De ningún modo!

16 D on’t you know that when you present yourselves as servants and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?

¿No saben ustedes que cuando se presentan como esclavos a alguien para obedecerle, son esclavos de aquél a quien obedecen, ya sea del pecado para muerte, o de la obediencia para justicia?

17 B ut thanks be to God, that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered.

Pero gracias a Dios, que aunque ustedes eran esclavos del pecado, se hicieron obedientes de corazón a aquella forma de doctrina a la que fueron entregados,

18 B eing made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.

y habiendo sido libertados del pecado, ustedes se han hecho siervos de la justicia.

19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.

Hablo en términos humanos, por causa de la debilidad de su carne. Porque de la manera que ustedes presentaron sus miembros como esclavos a la impureza y a la iniquidad, para iniquidad, así ahora presenten sus miembros como esclavos a la justicia, para santificación.

20 F or when you were servants of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

Porque cuando ustedes eran esclavos del pecado, eran libres en cuanto a la justicia.

21 W hat fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

¿Qué fruto tenían entonces en aquellas cosas de las cuales ahora se avergüenzan? Porque el fin de esas cosas es muerte.

22 B ut now, being made free from sin, and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification, and the result of eternal life.

Pero ahora, habiendo sido libertados del pecado y hechos siervos de Dios, tienen por su fruto la santificación, y como resultado la vida eterna.

23 F or the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Porque la paga del pecado es muerte, pero la dádiva de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro.
