1 Y o confío en el Señor; ¿Por qué, entonces, me sugieren que escape a las montañas, como un ave?

In Yahweh, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain!”

2 C iertamente, los malos preparan su arco y disponen las flechas sobre la cuerda para atacar desde las sombras a los justos.

For, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

3 ¿ Pero qué puede hacer el hombre honrado cuando son socavados los cimientos?

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

4 E l Señor está en su santo templo; el Señor tiene su trono en el cielo; él ve y examina a todos los seres humanos.

Yahweh is in his holy temple. Yahweh is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men.

5 E l Señor pone a prueba al hombre honrado, pero repudia al injusto y al violento;

Yahweh examines the righteous, but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.

6 a carrea calamidades sobre el malvado, y le lanza fuego, azufre y un viento calcinante.

On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

7 E l Señor es justo, y ama la justicia; el hombre honrado contemplará su rostro.

For Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.
