1 É stos son los jefes israelitas, jefes de familias y de millares y de centenas, oficiales que servían al rey en todos los asuntos relacionados con las divisiones que cada mes, y durante todo el año, entraban y salían. Cada división estaba formada por veinticuatro mil hombres.

Now the children of Israel after their number, the heads of fathers’ households and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king, in any matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year—of every division were twenty-four thousand.

2 L a primera división del primer mes la comandaba Yasobeán hijo de Zabdiel, y había en su división veinticuatro mil hombres.

Over the first division for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

3 D e los descendientes de Fares, Yasobeán fue el jefe de todos los capitanes de las compañías del primer mes.

He was of the children of Perez, the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month.

4 A l mando de la división del segundo mes estaba Doday el ajojita. Miclot era el jefe de su división, en la que también había veinticuatro mil hombres.

Over the division of the second month was Dodai the Ahohite, and his division; and Mikloth the ruler: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

5 E l jefe de la tercera división para el tercer mes era Benaías hijo de Joyadá, el sumo sacerdote. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest, chief: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

6 E ste Benaías era uno de los treinta valientes, y comandaba a los treinta. En su división estaba su hijo Amisabad.

This is that Benaiah who was the mighty man of the thirty, and over the thirty: and of his division was Ammizabad his son.

7 E l cuarto jefe para el cuarto mes era Asael, hermano de Joab, seguido de su hijo Zebadías. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

8 E l quinto jefe para el quinto mes era Samut el izraíta. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The fifth captain for this fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

9 E l sexto jefe para el sexto mes era Ira hijo de Iques, el de Tecoa. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

10 E l séptimo jefe para el séptimo mes era Heles el pelonita, de los efraimitas. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

11 E l octavo jefe para el octavo mes era Sibecay el husatita, de los zeraítas. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

12 E l noveno jefe para el noveno mes era Abiezer el anatotita, de los benjamitas. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

13 E l décimo jefe para el décimo mes era Maray el netofatita, de los zeraítas. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites: and in his division were Twenty-four thousand.

14 E l undécimo jefe para el undécimo mes era Benaías el piratonita, de los efraimitas. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

15 E l duodécimo jefe para el duodécimo mes era Jelday el netofatita, de los descendientes de Otoniel. En su división había veinticuatro mil hombres.

The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.

16 A l mando de las tribus de Israel estaban: Eliezer hijo de Zicri, jefe de los rubenitas; Sefatías hijo de Macá, jefe de los simeonitas;

Furthermore over the tribes of Israel: of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri the ruler; of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maacah;

of Levi, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; of Aaron, Zadok;

18 E liú, uno de los hermanos de David, de Judá; Omri hijo de Micael, de los de Isacar;

of Judah, Elihu, one of the brothers of David; of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael;

19 I smaías hijo de Abdías, de los de Zabulón; Jerimot hijo de Azriel, de los de Neftalí;

of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah; of Naphtali, Jeremoth the son of Azriel;

20 O seas hijo de Azazías, de los efraimitas; Joel hijo de Pedaías, de la media tribu de Manasés;

of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah; of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah;

21 I ddo hijo de Zacarías, de la otra media tribu de Manasés, en Galaad; Jasiel hijo de Abner, de los benjaminitas;

of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah; of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner;

22 A zareel hijo de Jeroán, de los danitas. Éstos eran los jefes de las tribus de Israel.

of Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the captains of the tribes of Israel.

23 D avid no incluyó a los que eran menores de veinte años porque el Señor había prometido hacer a Israel tan numeroso como las estrellas del cielo.

But David didn’t take the number of them from twenty years old and under, because Yahweh had said he would increase Israel like the stars of the sky.

24 J oab hijo de Seruyá había empezado a hacer el censo, pero no lo concluyó porque el castigo de Dios sobre Israel vino por causa de eso, y por lo tanto el número no se incluyó en el registro de las crónicas del rey David.

Joab the son of Zeruiah began to take a census, but didn’t finish; and wrath came on Israel for this. The number wasn’t put into the account in the chronicles of king David.

25 A zmavet hijo de Adiel tenía a su cargo los tesoros del rey, y Jonatán hijo de Uzías tenía a su cargo los tesoros de los campos, de las ciudades, de las aldeas y de las torres.

Over the king’s treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the treasures in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the towers, was Jonathan the son of Uzziah;

26 E zri hijo de Quelub estaba a cargo de los que cultivaban las tierras.

Over those who did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub;

27 S imey el ramatita estaba a cargo de las viñas, y Zabdi el sifmita del fruto de las viñas para las bodegas.

and over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite; and over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite;

28 B aal Janán el gederita estaba a cargo de los olivares y de las higueras de la Sefela; y Joás, de los almacenes de aceite.

and over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the lowland was Baal Hanan the Gederite; and over the cellars of oil was Joash;

29 S itray el saronita tenía a su cargo el ganado que pastaba en Sarón, y Safat hijo de Adlay se ocupaba del ganado que había en los valles.

and over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite; and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai;

30 D e los camellos se ocupaba Obil el ismaelita; de las asnas, Yejedías el meronotita;

and over the camels was Obil the Ishmaelite; and over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite; and over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite.

31 y de las ovejas, Jaziz el agareno. Todos estos eran administradores de las propiedades del rey David.

All these were the rulers of the property which was king David’s.

32 J onatán, el tío de David, que era un hombre prudente, era consejero y escriba; y Yejiel hijo de Jacmoní cuidaba a los hijos del rey.

Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons.

33 T ambién Ajitofel era consejero del rey, y Jusay el arquita era amigo del rey.

Ahithophel was the king’s counselor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s friend.

34 D espués de Ajitofel estaba Joyadá hijo de Benaías, y Abiatar. Joab era el general del ejército del rey.

After Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. Joab was the captain of the king’s army.
