1 M oreover the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

Entonces vino la palabra del Señor a Jeremías por segunda vez, mientras él estaba aún detenido en el patio de la guardia:

2 T hus saith Jehovah that doeth it, Jehovah that formeth it to establish it; Jehovah is his name:

“Así dice el Señor que hizo la tierra, el Señor que la formó para establecerla; el Señor es Su nombre:

3 C all unto me, and I will answer thee, and will show thee great things, and difficult, which thou knowest not.

‘Clama a Mí, y Yo te responderé y te revelaré cosas grandes e inaccesibles, que tú no conoces.’

4 F or thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are broken down to make a defence against the mounds and against the sword;

Porque así dice el Señor, Dios de Israel, acerca de las casas de esta ciudad y acerca de las casas de los reyes de Judá, las cuales han sido derribadas para hacer defensas contra los terraplenes de asalto y contra la espada:

5 w hile men come to fight with the Chaldeans, and to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my wrath, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city:

Mientras ellos vienen a pelear contra los Caldeos que llenarán la ciudad con los cadáveres de los hombres que herí en Mi ira y en Mi furor, pues Yo había escondido Mi rostro de esta ciudad a causa de toda su maldad.

6 B ehold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them; and I will reveal unto them abundance of peace and truth.

Pero ciertamente Yo le traeré salud y sanidad; los sanaré y les revelaré abundancia de paz y de verdad.

7 A nd I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

Restauraré el bienestar de Judá y el bienestar de Israel y los reedificaré como eran al principio.

8 A nd I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned against me, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

Los limpiaré de toda la maldad que cometieron contra Mí, y perdonaré todas las iniquidades con que pecaron contra Mí y con las que se rebelaron contra Mí.

9 A nd this city shall be to me for a name of joy, for a praise and for a glory, before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them, and shall fear and tremble for all the good and for all the peace that I procure unto it.

Y la ciudad será para Mí un nombre de gozo, de alabanza y de gloria ante todas las naciones de la tierra, las cuales oirán de todo el bien que Yo le hago, y temerán y temblarán a causa de todo el bien y de toda la paz que Yo le doy.’

10 T hus saith Jehovah: Yet again there shall be heard in this place, whereof ye say, It is waste, without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,

“Así dice el Señor: ‘En este lugar, del cual ustedes dicen: “Es una desolación, sin hombres y sin animales,” en las ciudades de Judá y en las calles de Jerusalén que están desoladas, sin hombres, sin habitantes y sin animales, se oirá de nuevo

11 t he voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give thanks to Jehovah of hosts, for Jehovah is good, for his lovingkindness endureth for ever; and of them that bring sacrifices of thanksgiving into the house of Jehovah. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, saith Jehovah.

voz de gozo y voz de alegría, la voz del novio y la voz de la novia, la voz de los que dicen: “Den gracias al Señor de los ejércitos, Porque el Señor es bueno, Porque para siempre es Su misericordia ”; y de los que traen ofrenda de acción de gracias a la casa del Señor. Porque restauraré el bienestar de esta tierra como fueron al principio,’ dice el Señor.

12 T hus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet again shall there be in this place, which is waste, without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, a habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

“Así dice el Señor de los ejércitos: ‘En este lugar desolado, sin hombres y sin animales, y en todas sus ciudades, habrá de nuevo morada de pastores que hagan descansar sus rebaños.

13 I n the cities of the hill-country, in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks again pass under the hands of him that numbereth them, saith Jehovah.

En las ciudades de la región montañosa, en las ciudades de la llanura, en las ciudades del Neguev (región del sur), en la tierra de Benjamín, en los alrededores de Jerusalén y en las ciudades de Judá, volverán a pasar las ovejas bajo las manos del que las cuenta,’ declara el Señor.

14 B ehold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that I will perform that good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and concerning the house of Judah.

Vienen días,’ declara el Señor, ‘en que cumpliré la buena palabra que he hablado a la casa de Israel y a la casa de Judá.

15 I n those days, and at that time, will I cause a Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

En aquellos días y en aquel tiempo haré brotar de David un Renuevo justo, y El hará juicio y justicia en la tierra.

16 I n those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is the name whereby she shall be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

En aquellos días Judá estará a salvo y Jerusalén morará segura, y éste es el nombre con el cual será llamada: el Señor es nuestra justicia.’

17 F or thus saith Jehovah: David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

“Porque así dice el Señor: ‘Nunca le faltará a David quien se siente sobre el trono de la casa de Israel.

18 n either shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt-offerings, and to burn meal-offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

‘Tampoco a los sacerdotes Levitas les faltará quien en Mi presencia ofrezca holocausto, queme ofrendas de cereal y prepare sacrificios todos los días.’”

19 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, saying,

Y vino palabra del Señor a Jeremías:

20 T hus saith Jehovah: If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, so that there shall not be day and night in their season;

“Así dice el Señor: ‘Si ustedes pudieran romper Mi pacto con el día y Mi pacto con la noche, de modo que el día y la noche no vinieran a su tiempo,

21 t hen may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he shall not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

entonces también se podría romper Mi pacto con Mi siervo David, y él no tendría hijo para reinar sobre su trono con los sacerdotes Levitas, Mis ministros.

22 A s the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured; so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

Como no se puede contar el ejército del cielo, ni se puede medir la arena del mar, así multiplicaré la descendencia de Mi siervo David y de los Levitas que Me sirven.’”

23 A nd the word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah, saying,

Y vino palabra del Señor a Jeremías:

24 C onsiderest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which Jehovah did choose, he hath cast them off? thus do they despise my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

“¿No has observado lo que dice este pueblo: ‘Las dos familias que el Señor escogió, El las ha desechado ’? Desprecian a Mi pueblo, ya no son una nación ante sus ojos.

25 T hus saith Jehovah: If my covenant of day and night stand not, if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

Así dice el Señor: ‘ Si no hubiera permanecido Mi pacto con el día y con la noche, y si Yo no hubiera establecido las leyes del cielo y de la tierra,

26 t hen will I also cast away the seed of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and will have mercy on them.

entonces hubiera desechado la descendencia de Jacob y de Mi siervo David, para no tomar de su descendencia quien gobernara sobre la descendencia de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob. Pero Yo restauraré su bienestar y tendré misericordia de ellos.’”
