1 A nd Jacob called unto his sons, and said: gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the latter days.

Entonces Jacob llamó a sus hijos, y dijo: “Reúnanse para que les haga saber lo que les ha de acontecer en los días venideros.

2 A ssemble yourselves, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; And hearken unto Israel your father.

Júntense y oigan, hijos de Jacob, Y escuchen a Israel su padre.

3 R euben, thou art my first-born, my might, and the beginning of my strength; The pre-eminence of dignity, and the pre-eminence of power.

Rubén, tú eres mi primogénito, Mi poderío y el principio de mi vigor, Prominente en dignidad y prominente en poder.

4 B oiling over as water, thou shalt not have the pre-eminence; Because thou wentest up to thy father's bed; Then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

Incontrolable como el agua, no tendrás preeminencia, Porque subiste a la cama de tu padre, Y la profanaste: él subió a mi lecho.

5 S imeon and Levi are brethren; Weapons of violence are their swords.

Simeón y Leví son hermanos; Sus armas instrumentos de violencia.

8 J udah, thee shall thy brethren praise: Thy hand shall be on the neck of thine enemies; Thy father's sons shall bow down before thee.

A ti Judá, te alabarán tus hermanos; Tu mano estará en el cuello de tus enemigos; Se inclinarán a ti los hijos de tu padre.

9 J udah is a lion's whelp; From the prey, my son, thou art gone up: He stooped down, he couched as a lion, And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up?

Cachorro de león es Judá; De la presa, hijo mío, has subido. Se agazapa, se echa como león, O como leona, ¿quién lo despertará ?

10 T he sceptre shall not depart from Judah, Nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, Until Shiloh come: And unto him shall the obedience of the peoples be.

El cetro no se apartará de Judá, Ni la vara de gobernante de entre sus pies, Hasta que venga Siloh, Y a él sea dada la obediencia de los pueblos.

11 B inding his foal unto the vine, And his ass's colt unto the choice vine; He hath washed his garments in wine, And his vesture in the blood of grapes:

El ata a la vid su pollino, Y a la mejor cepa el hijo de su asna; él lava en vino sus vestiduras, Y en la sangre de las uvas su manto.

12 H is eyes shall be red with wine, And his teeth white with milk.

Sus ojos están apagados por el vino, Y sus dientes blancos por la leche.

13 Z ebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; And he shall be for a haven of ships; And his border shall be upon Sidon.

Zabulón habitará a la orilla del mar; Y él será puerto para naves, Y su límite será hasta Sidón.

16 D an shall judge his people, As one of the tribes of Israel.

Dan juzgará a su pueblo, Como una de las tribus de Israel.

17 D an shall be a serpent in the way, An adder in the path, That biteth the horse's heels, So that his rider falleth backward.

Sea Dan serpiente junto al camino, Víbora junto al sendero, Que muerde los talones del caballo, Y cae su jinete hacia atrás.

18 I have waited for thy salvation, O Jehovah.

¡Tu salvación espero, oh Señor!

19 G ad, a troop shall press upon him; But he shall press upon their heel.

A Gad salteadores lo asaltarán, Mas él asaltará su retaguardia.

20 O ut of the Asher his bread shall be fat, And he shall yield royal dainties.

En cuanto a Aser, su alimento será sustancioso, Y él dará manjares de rey.

21 N aphtali is a hind let loose: He giveth goodly words.

Neftalí es una cierva en libertad, Que pronuncia palabras hermosas.

22 J oseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a fountain; His branches run over the wall.

Rama fecunda es José, Rama fecunda junto a un manantial; Sus vástagos se extienden sobre el muro.

23 T he archers have sorely grieved him, And shot at him, and persecute him:

Los arqueros lo atacaron con furor, Lo asaetearon y lo hostigaron;

24 B ut his bow abode in strength, And the arms of his hands were made strong, By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, (From thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),

Pero su arco permaneció firme Y sus brazos fueron ágiles Por las manos del Poderoso de Jacob (de allí es el Pastor, la Roca de Israel ),

25 E ven by the God of thy father, who shall help thee, And by the Almighty, who shall bless thee, With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that coucheth beneath, Blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.

Por el Dios de tu padre que te ayuda, Y por el Todopoderoso que te bendice Con bendiciones de los cielos de arriba, Bendiciones del abismo que está abajo, Bendiciones de los pechos y del seno materno.

26 T he blessings of thy father Have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors Unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: They shall be on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

Las bendiciones de tu padre Han sobrepasado las bendiciones de mis antepasados Hasta el límite de los collados eternos; Sean ellas sobre la cabeza de José, Y sobre la cabeza del consagrado de entre sus hermanos.

27 B enjamin is a wolf that raveneth: In the morning she shall devour the prey, And at even he shall divide the spoil.

Benjamín es lobo rapaz; De mañana devora la presa, Y a la tarde reparte los despojos.” Muerte de Jacob

28 A ll these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them.

Todas estas son las doce tribus de Israel, y esto es lo que les dijo su padre cuando los bendijo. A cada uno lo bendijo con la bendición que le correspondía.

29 A nd he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

Después les ordenó y les dijo: “Voy a ser reunido a mi pueblo. Sepúltenme con mis padres en la cueva que está en el campo de Efrón el Hitita,

Allí sepultaron a Abraham y a su mujer Sara. Allí sepultaron a Isaac y a su mujer Rebeca, y allí sepulté yo a Lea.

32 t he field and the cave that is therein, which was purchased from the children of Heth.

El campo y la cueva que hay en él, fueron comprados de los hijos de Het.”

33 A nd when Jacob made an end of charging his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.

Cuando Jacob terminó de encargar estas cosas a sus hijos, recogió sus pies en la cama y expiró, y fue reunido a su pueblo.
