1 P ara el ministerio, y para que profetizaran con arpas, salterios y címbalos, David y los jefes del ejército apartaron a los hijos de Asaf, de Hemán y de Jedutún. El número de ellos, que eran hombres idóneos para la obra de su ministerio, fue el siguiente:

Moreover David and the captains of the host set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of them that did the work according to their service was:

2 D e los hijos de Asaf: Zacur, José, Netanías y Asarela, hijos de Asaf. Éstos estaban bajo la dirección de Asaf, el cual profetizaba bajo las órdenes del rey.

of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied after the order of the king.

3 D e los hijos de Jedutún: Gedalías, Serí, Jesaías, Jasabías, Matatías y Simey. Estos seis estaban bajo la dirección de Jedutún, su padre, el cual profetizaba al son del arpa, para aclamar y alabar al Señor.

Of Jeduthun; the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Jehovah.

4 D e los hijos de Hemán: Buquías, Matanías, Uziel, Sebuel, Jeremot, Jananías, Jananí, Eliata, Gidalti, Romanti Ezer, Josbecasa, Maloti, Hotir y Majaziot.

Of Heman; the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.

5 T odos estos fueron hijos de Hemán, que era el vidente del rey en todo lo relacionado con Dios y exaltaba su poder. Dios le dio a Hemán catorce hijos y tres hijas.

All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 T odos ellos estaban en la casa del Señor bajo la dirección musical de su padre, con címbalos, salterios y arpas, para el ministerio del templo de Dios. Asaf, Jedutún y Hemán estaban allí por disposición del rey.

All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of Jehovah, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

7 E l número de todos los aptos e instruidos en el canto para honrar al Señor, era de doscientos ochenta y ocho, incluyendo a sus hermanos.

And the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in singing unto Jehovah, even all that were skilful, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

8 L os turnos para ministrar fueron sorteados, sin distinguir entre pequeños y grandes, ni entre maestros y discípulos.

And they cast lots for their offices, all alike, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

9 E l primero en salir sorteado fue Asaf, de José. El segundo fue Gedalías, que con sus hermanos e hijos eran doce.

Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah; he and his brethren and sons were twelve:

10 E l tercero fue Zacur, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

11 E l cuarto fue Izri, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

12 E l quinto fue Netanías, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

13 E l sexto fue Buquías, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

14 E l séptimo fue Jesarela, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

15 E l octavo fue Jesahías, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

16 E l noveno fue Matanías, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

17 E l décimo fue Simey, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the tenth to Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

18 E l undécimo fue Azareel, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

19 E l duodécimo fue Jasabías, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

20 E l decimotercero fue Subael, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

21 E l decimocuarto fue Matatías, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

22 E l decimoquinto fue Jeremot, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

for the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

23 E l decimosexto fue Jananías, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.

for the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

24 E l decimoséptimo fue Josbecasa, que con sus hijos y sus hermanos eran doce.
