1 D avid şi conducătorii oştirii au pus deoparte pentru slujire pe unii dintre fiii lui Asaf, ai lui Heman şi ai lui Iedutun, ca să profeţească în sunet de liră, de harfă şi de chimval. Iată numărul bărbaţilor care făceau slujba aceasta:

Moreover David and the captains of the host set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of them that did the work according to their service was:

2 d intre fiii lui Asaf: Zacur, Iosif, Netania şi Asarela; fiii lui Asaf se aflau sub îndrumarea lui Asaf, care profeţea sub supravegherea regelui;

of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied after the order of the king.

3 d in Iedutun – fiii lui Iedutun: Ghedalia, Ţeri, Isaia, Şimei, Haşabia şi Matitia – în total şase; ei erau sub îndrumarea tatălui lor, Iedutun, care profeţea în sunet de liră, mulţumind şi aducând laudă Domnului;

Of Jeduthun; the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Jehovah.

4 d in Heman – fiii lui Heman: Buchia, Matania, Uziel, Şebuel, Ierimot, Hanania, Hanani, Eliata, Ghidalti, Romamti-Ezer, Ioşbekaşa, Maloti, Hotir şi Mahaziot.

Of Heman; the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.

5 T oţi aceştia erau fii ai lui Heman, văzătorul regelui, căci Dumnezeu spusese că-i va înălţa puterea. Dumnezeu i-a dat lui Heman paisprezece fii şi trei fiice.

All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 T oţi aceştia erau sub îndrumarea părinţilor lor în ce priveşte cântarea de la Casa Domnului, având chimvale, harfe şi lire pentru slujba Casei lui Dumnezeu. Asaf, Iedutun şi Heman se aflau sub supravegherea regelui.

All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of Jehovah, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

7 E i şi rudele lor, care erau iscusite în cântarea Domnului, toţi cei care aveau îndemânare, erau în număr de două sute optzeci şi opt.

And the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in singing unto Jehovah, even all that were skilful, was two hundred fourscore and eight.

8 A u aruncat sorţii pentru aflarea responsabilităţilor, atât pentru cei mari, cât şi pentru cei mici, atât pentru învăţători, cât şi pentru ucenici.

And they cast lots for their offices, all alike, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.

9 P entru Asaf, primul sorţ a ieşit pentru Iosif, al doilea – pentru Ghedalia, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah; he and his brethren and sons were twelve:

10 a l treilea – pentru Zacur, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

11 a l patrulea – pentru Iţri, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

12 a l cincilea – pentru Netania, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the fifth to Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

13 a l şaselea – pentru Buchia, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the sixth to Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

14 a l şaptelea – pentru Iesarel, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the seventh to Jesharelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

15 a l optulea – pentru Isaia, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the eighth to Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

16 a l nouălea – pentru Matania, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the ninth to Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

17 a l zecelea – pentru Şimei, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the tenth to Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

18 a l unsprezecelea – pentru Azarel, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the eleventh to Azarel, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

19 a l doisprezecelea – pentru Haşabia, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

the twelfth to Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

20 a l treisprezecelea – pentru Şubael, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the thirteenth, Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

21 a l paisprezecelea – pentru Matitia, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the fourteenth, Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

22 a l cincisprezecelea – pentru Ieremot, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the fifteenth to Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

23 a l şaisprezecelea – pentru Hanania, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the sixteenth to Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

24 a l şaptesprezecelea – pentru Ioşbekaşa, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the seventeenth to Joshbekashah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

25 a l optsprezecelea – pentru Hanani, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the eighteenth to Hanani, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

26 a l nouăsprezecelea – pentru Maloti, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

27 a l douăzecilea – pentru Eliata, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the twentieth to Eliathah, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

28 a l douăzeci şi unulea – pentru Hotir, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the one and twentieth to Hothir, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

29 a l douăzeci şi doilea – pentru Ghidalti, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the two and twentieth to Giddalti, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

30 a l douăzeci şi treilea – pentru Mahaziot, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece;

for the three and twentieth to Mahazioth, his sons and his brethren, twelve:

31 a l douăzeci şi patrulea – pentru Romamti-Ezer, care împreună cu fraţii şi cu fiii lui erau doisprezece.
