1 S eñor, líbrame de los malvados; ¡protégeme de los violentos!

Deliver me, O Jehovah, from the evil man; Preserve me from the violent man:

2 E sa gente siempre está tramando el mal, y no hay un día en que no busque pleito.

Who devise mischiefs in their heart; Continually do they gather themselves together for war.

3 S u lengua es aguda como de serpiente; sus labios destilan veneno mortal.

They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; Adders' poison is under their lips. Selah

4 S eñor, ¡protégeme de la gente malvada! ¡Líbrame de la gente violenta, que quiere hacerme caer!

Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from the violent man: Who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.

5 S on gente soberbia, que me tiende trampas; gente que a mi paso pone redes con la intención de hacerme tropezar.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set gins for me. Selah

6 Y o, Señor, declaro que tú eres mi Dios; ¡dígnate, Señor, prestar oído a mi súplica!

I said unto Jehovah, Thou art my God: Give ear unto the voice of my supplications, O Jehovah.

7 T ú, Señor mi Dios, eres mi poderoso salvador; ¡tú me proteges en el día de la batalla!

O Jehovah the Lord, the strength of my salvation, Thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

8 ¡ No permitas, Señor, que triunfen los malvados! ¡Frustra sus planes! ¡Que no se sientan superiores!

Grant not, O Jehovah, the desires of the wicked; Further not his evil device, lest they exalt themselves. Selah

9 E n cuanto a los malvados que me rodean, ¡que su propia maldad los destruya!

As for the head of those that compass me about, Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 ¡ Que caigan sobre ellos carbones encendidos! ¡Que sean arrojados al fuego! ¡Que caigan en un foso profundo y no vuelvan a salir!

Let burning coals fall upon them: Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, whence they shall not rise.

11 ¡ Que esos mentirosos no afiancen su poder! ¡Que el mal alcance y derribe a los violentos!

An evil speaker shall not be established in the earth: Evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 Y o sé que tú, Señor, defiendes a los pobres y les haces justicia a los afligidos.

I know that Jehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the needy.

13 P or eso los hombres justos y rectos alaban tu nombre y vivirán en tu presencia.

Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: The upright shall dwell in thy presence.
