1 L a palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

The word of Jehovah also came unto me, saying,

2 « Hijo de hombre, tú habitas en medio de un pueblo rebelde. Tienen ojos para ver, pero no ven; tienen oídos para oír, pero no oyen; porque son un pueblo rebelde.

Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of the rebellious house, that have eyes to see, and see not, that have ears to hear, and hear not; for they are a rebellious house.

3 P or lo tanto, hijo de hombre, prepara tu equipaje y ponte en marcha, a pleno sol y a la vista de ellos. Sal de tu lugar y vete a otra parte, de modo que te vean. Son un pueblo rebelde, pero tal vez te hagan caso.

Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

4 A l caer la tarde, muéstrales tu equipaje y a la vista de ellos ponte en marcha, como si estuvieras yendo al cautiverio.

And thou shalt bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing; and thou shalt go forth thyself at even in their sight, as when men go forth into exile.

5 H az que te vean abrirte paso a través de la muralla, y sal de la ciudad.

Dig thou through the wall in their sight, and carry out thereby.

6 É chate al hombro el equipaje y sal con él de noche, con el rostro cubierto y sin mirar al suelo. Haz todo esto a la vista de ellos, porque yo te he puesto de ejemplo para el pueblo de Israel.»

In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulder, and carry it forth in the dark; thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the land: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.

7 Y o hice todo lo que se ordenó hacer. A plena luz del día saqué mi equipaje, como si me estuviera yendo al cautiverio, y al caer la tarde con mis propias manos me abrí paso a través de la muralla. Salí de noche con mi equipaje al hombro, a la vista de todos ellos.

And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for removing, and in the even I digged through the wall with my hand; I brought it forth in the dark, and bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.

8 P or la mañana la palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

And in the morning came the word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

9 « Hijo de hombre, seguramente ese pueblo rebelde, el pueblo de Israel, te va a preguntar qué es lo que haces.

Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?

10 D iles que yo, el Señor, he dicho: “Esta profecía se refiere al príncipe de Jerusalén y a todo el pueblo de Israel que habita en esa ciudad.”

Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.

11 D iles también: “Yo, Ezequiel, soy un ejemplo para ustedes. Lo mismo que yo hice, se va a hacer con ustedes, pues van a marchar cautivos al destierro.”

Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them; they shall go into exile, into captivity.

12 E l príncipe que ahora los gobierna se echará al hombro su equipaje y saldrá de la ciudad abriéndose paso por la muralla y cubriéndose el rostro para no ver el suelo.

And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the dark, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, because he shall not see the land with his eyes.

13 Y o extenderé mi red sobre él, y lo haré caer en ella, para llevarlo a Babilonia, al país de los caldeos. Pero no llegará a verlo, porque allá morirá.

My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare; and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.

14 A todos los que antes estaban atentos a servirle, y a todo su ejército, los esparciré por los cuatro vientos, y con la espada desenvainada los perseguiré.

And I will scatter toward every wind all that are round about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

15 » Cuando los haya dispersado totalmente entre las naciones y por toda la tierra, sabrán que yo soy el Señor.

And they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I shall disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries.

16 S in embargo, dejaré que unos pocos de ellos escapen de la espada, del hambre y de la peste, para que cuenten todos sus hechos repugnantes entre las naciones a las que lleguen. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.»

But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the nations whither they come; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

17 L a palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

Moreover the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,

18 « Hijo de hombre, come tu pan y bebe tu agua temblando de miedo y de angustia.

Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with fearfulness;

19 Y a la gente del país dile: “Así ha dicho Dios el Señor acerca de los habitantes de Jerusalén y de todo Israel: Con mucho temor y angustia comerán su pan y beberán su agua, pues por la maldad de todos sus habitantes el país será despojado de su abundancia.”

and say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, and despoiled of all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

20 L as ciudades ahora habitadas quedarán abandonadas, y el país será destruido. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.»

And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be a desolation; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

21 L a palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

22 « Hijo de hombre, ¿a qué viene que todos en Israel andan repitiendo ese refrán que dice: “Los días se alargan, pero la visión no llega”?

Son of man, what is this proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?

23 P ues ahora vas a decirles de mi parte: “Voy a ponerle fin a este refrán, y nunca más volverá a repetirse en Israel.” Diles que ya está cerca el día en que todas las visiones se cumplirán.

Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the fulfilment of every vision.

24 N o volverá a haber en Israel ninguna visión falsa ni adivinaciones de gente aduladora.

For there shall be no more any false vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

25 Y o, el Señor, seré quien hable, y lo que yo diga se cumplirá. Ya no habrá más demoras, pueblo rebelde. Voy a hablar, y lo que yo diga se cumplirá. ¡Y ustedes vivirán para verlo!» Palabra de Dios el Señor.

For I am Jehovah; I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall be performed; it shall be no more deferred: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I speak the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

26 L a palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

Again the word of Jehovah came to me, saying,

27 « Hijo de hombre, mira que los del pueblo de Israel andan diciendo: “Las visiones que Ezequiel tiene van para largo. Lo que él profetiza va a tardar mucho en cumplirse.”

Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many day to come, and he prophesieth of times that are far off.

28 A sí que ve y diles de mi parte: “Ya no habrá más demoras. Lo que yo diga, se cumplirá.”» Palabra de Dios el Señor.

Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: There shall none of my words be deferred any more, but the word which I shall speak shall be performed, saith the Lord Jehovah.
