1 ¿ Por qué se sublevan las naciones, y los pueblos traman cosas vanas ?

Why have nations tumultuously assembled? And do peoples meditate vanity?

2 S e levantan los reyes de la tierra, y los gobernantes traman unidos contra el Señor y contra su Ungido, diciendo:

Station themselves do kings of the earth, And princes have been united together, Against Jehovah, and against His Messiah:

3 ¡ Rompamos sus cadenas y echemos de nosotros sus cuerdas!

`Let us draw off Their cords, And cast from us Their thick bands.'

4 E l que se sienta como Rey en los cielos se ríe, el Señor se burla de ellos.

He who is sitting in the heavens doth laugh, The Lord doth mock at them.

5 L uego les hablará en su ira, y en su furor los aterrará, diciendo:

Then doth He speak unto them in His anger, And in His wrath He doth trouble them:

6 P ero yo mismo he consagrado a mi Rey sobre Sion, mi santo monte.

`And I -- I have anointed My King, Upon Zion -- My holy hill.'

7 C iertamente anunciaré el decreto del Señor que me dijo: “Mi Hijo eres tú, yo te he engendrado hoy.

I declare concerning a statute: Jehovah said unto me, `My Son Thou, I to-day have brought thee forth.

8 “ Pídeme, y te daré las naciones como herencia tuya, y como posesión tuya los confines de la tierra.

Ask of Me and I give nations -- thy inheritance, And thy possession -- the ends of earth.

9 “ Tú los quebrantarás con vara de hierro; los desmenuzarás como vaso de alfarero.”

Thou dost rule them with a sceptre of iron, As a vessel of a potter Thou dost crush them.'

10 A hora pues, oh reyes, mostrad discernimiento; recibid amonestación, oh jueces de la tierra.

And now, O kings, act wisely, Be instructed, O judges of earth,

11 A dorad al Señor con reverencia, y alegraos con temblor.

Serve ye Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling.

12 H onrad al Hijo para que no se enoje y perezcáis en el camino, pues puede inflamarse de repente su ira. ¡Cuán bienaventurados son todos los que en El se refugian!

Kiss the Chosen One, lest He be angry, And ye lose the way, When His anger burneth but a little, O the happiness of all trusting in Him!
