1 Y los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, y el Señor los entregó en manos de los filisteos por cuarenta años.

And the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and Jehovah giveth them into the hand of the Philistines forty years.

2 Y había un hombre de Zora, de la familia de los danitas, el cual se llamaba Manoa; su mujer era estéril y no había tenido hijos.

And there is a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danite, and his name Manoah, his wife barren, and hath not borne;

3 E ntonces el ángel del Señor se le apareció a la mujer, y le dijo: He aquí, tú eres estéril y no has tenido hijos, pero concebirás y darás a luz un hijo.

and a messenger of Jehovah appeareth unto the woman, and saith unto her, `Lo, I pray thee, thou barren, and hast not borne; when thou hast conceived, then thou hast borne a son.

4 A hora pues, cuídate de no beber vino ni licor, y de no comer ninguna cosa inmunda.

And, now, take heed, I pray thee, and do not drink wine, and strong drink, and do not eat any unclean thing,

5 P ues he aquí, concebirás y darás a luz un hijo; no pasará navaja sobre su cabeza, porque el niño será nazareo para Dios desde el seno materno; y él comenzará a salvar a Israel de manos de los filisteos.

for, lo, thou art conceiving and bearing a son, and a razor doth not go up on his head, for a Nazarite to God is the youth from the womb, and he doth begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.'

6 Y la mujer fue y se lo dijo a su marido, diciendo: Un hombre de Dios vino a mí, y su aspecto era como el aspecto del ángel de Dios, muy imponente. Yo no le pregunté de dónde venía, ni él me hizo saber su nombre.

And the woman cometh and speaketh to her husband, saying, `A man of God hath come unto me, and his appearance as the appearance of a messenger of God, very fearful, and I have not asked him whence he, and his name he hath not declared to me;

7 P ero él me dijo: “He aquí, concebirás y darás a luz un hijo; desde ahora no beberás vino ni licor, ni comerás cosa inmunda, porque el niño será nazareo para Dios desde el seno materno hasta el día de su muerte.”

and he saith to me, Lo, thou art pregnant, and bearing a son, and now do not drink wine and strong drink, and do not eat any unclean thing, for a Nazarite to God is the youth from the womb till the day of his death.'

8 E ntonces Manoa imploró al Señor, y dijo: Te ruego Señor, que el hombre de Dios que tú enviaste venga otra vez a nosotros, para que nos enseñe lo que hemos de hacer con el niño que ha de nacer.

And Manoah maketh entreaty unto Jehovah, and saith, `O, my Lord, the man of God whom Thou didst send, let him come in, I pray thee, again unto us, and direct us what we do to the youth who is born.'

9 Y Dios escuchó la voz de Manoa. Y el ángel de Dios vino otra vez a la mujer cuando estaba sentada en el campo; y Manoa su marido no estaba con ella.

And God hearkeneth to the voice of Manoah, and the messenger of God cometh again unto the woman, and she sitting in a field, and Manoah her husband is not with her,

10 Y la mujer corrió rápidamente y avisó a su marido, y le dijo: He aquí, se me ha aparecido el hombre que vino el otro día.

and the woman hasteth, and runneth, and declareth to her husband, and saith unto him, `Lo, he hath appeared unto me -- the man who came on day unto me.'

11 M anoa se levantó y siguió a su mujer, y cuando llegó al hombre, le dijo: ¿Eres el hombre que habló a la mujer ? Y él respondió: Yo soy.

And Manoah riseth, and goeth after his wife, and cometh unto the man, and saith to him, `Art thou the man who spake unto the woman?' and he saith, `I.'

12 Y Manoa dijo: Cuando tus palabras se cumplan, ¿cómo debe ser el modo de vivir del muchacho y cuál su vocación?

And Manoah saith, `Now let thy words come to pass; what is the custom of the youth -- and his work?'

13 Y el ángel del Señor dijo a Manoa: Que la mujer atienda a todo lo que le dije.

And the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, `Of all that I said unto the woman let her take heed;

14 N o comerá nada que venga de la vid, no beberá vino ni licor, ni comerá nada inmundo; que guarde ella todo lo que le he mandado. Visión de Manoa y nacimiento de Sansón

of anything which cometh out from the wine-vine she doth not eat, and wine and strong drink she doth not drink, and any unclean thing she doth not eat; all that I have commanded her she doth observe.'

15 E ntonces Manoa dijo al ángel del Señor: Permítenos detenerte y prepararte un cabrito.

And Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, `Let us detain thee, we pray thee, and prepare before thee a kid of the goats.'

16 Y el ángel del Señor respondió a Manoa: Aunque me detengas, no comeré de tu alimento, mas si preparas un holocausto, ofrécelo al Señor. Y Manoa no sabía que era el ángel del Señor.

And the messenger of Jehovah saith unto Manoah, `If thou detain me -- I do not eat of thy bread; and if thou prepare a burnt-offering -- to Jehovah thou dost offer it;' for Manoah hath not known that He a messenger of Jehovah.

17 Y Manoa dijo al ángel del Señor: ¿Cuál es tu nombre, para que cuando se cumplan tus palabras, te honremos?

And Manoah saith unto the messenger of Jehovah, `What thy name? when thy words come to pass, then we have honoured thee.'

18 Y el ángel del Señor le respondió: ¿Por qué preguntas mi nombre, viendo que es maravilloso ?

And the messenger of Jehovah saith to him, `Why this -- thou dost ask for My name? -- and it Wonderful.'

19 Y Manoa tomó el cabrito con la ofrenda de cereal y los ofreció sobre una piedra al Señor, y el ángel hizo maravillas mientras que Manoa y su mujer observaban.

And Manoah taketh the kid of the goats, and the present, and offereth on the rock to Jehovah, and He is doing wonderfully, and Manoah and his wife are looking on,

20 P ues sucedió que cuando la llama subía del altar hacia el cielo, el ángel del Señor ascendió en la llama del altar. Al ver esto, Manoa y su mujer cayeron rostro en tierra.

and it cometh to pass, in the going up of the flame from off the altar toward the heavens, that the messenger of Jehovah goeth up in the flame of the altar, and Manoah and his wife are looking on, and they fall on their faces to the earth,

21 Y el ángel del Señor no volvió a aparecer a Manoa ni a su mujer. Entonces Manoa supo que era el ángel del Señor.

and the messenger of Jehovah hath not added again to appear unto Manoah, and unto his wife, then hath Manoah known that He a messenger of Jehovah.

22 Y Manoa dijo a su mujer: Ciertamente moriremos, porque hemos visto a Dios.

And Manoah saith unto his wife, `We certainly die, for we have seen God.'

23 P ero su mujer le dijo: Si el Señor hubiera deseado matarnos, no habría aceptado el holocausto ni la ofrenda de cereal de nuestras manos; tampoco nos habría mostrado todas estas cosas, ni nos habría permitido ahora oír cosas como éstas.

And his wife saith to him, `If Jehovah were desirous to put us to death, He had not received from our hands burnt-offering and present, nor shewed us all these things, nor as time caused us to hear like this.'

24 Y la mujer dio a luz un hijo y le puso por nombre Sansón. Y el niño creció y el Señor lo bendijo.

And the woman beareth a son, and calleth his name Samson, and the youth groweth, and Jehovah doth bless him,

25 Y el Espíritu del Señor comenzó a manifestarse en él en Mahané-dan, entre Zora y Estaol.

and the Spirit of Jehovah beginneth to move him in the camp of Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.
