1 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:

2 S anctify unto me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.

Conságrame todo primogénito. Cualquiera que abre matriz entre los hijos de Israel, así de los hombres como de los animales, mío es.

3 A nd Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand Jehovah brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.

Y Moisés dijo al pueblo: Tened memoria de este día, en el cual habéis salido de Egipto, de la casa de servidumbre, pues Jehová os ha sacado de aquí con mano fuerte; por tanto, no comeréis leudado.

4 T his day ye go forth in the month Abib.

Vosotros salís hoy en el mes de Abib.

5 A nd it shall be, when Jehovah shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

Y cuando Jehová te hubiere metido en la tierra del cananeo, del heteo, del amorreo, del heveo y del jebuseo, la cual juró a tus padres que te daría, tierra que destila leche y miel, harás esta celebración en este mes.

6 S even days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Jehovah.

Siete días comerás pan sin leudar, y el séptimo día será fiesta para Jehová.

7 U nleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee, in all thy borders.

Por los siete días se comerán los panes sin levadura, y no se verá contigo nada leudado, ni levadura, en todo tu territorio.

8 A nd thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying, It is because of that which Jehovah did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.

Y lo contarás en aquel día a tu hijo, diciendo: Se hace esto con motivo de lo que Jehová hizo conmigo cuando me sacó de Egipto.

9 A nd it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt.

Y te será como una señal sobre tu mano, y como un memorial delante de tus ojos, para que la ley de Jehová esté en tu boca; por cuanto con mano fuerte te sacó Jehová de Egipto.

10 T hou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year.

Por tanto, tú guardarás este rito en su tiempo de año en año.

11 A nd it shall be, when Jehovah shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, as he sware unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

Y cuando Jehová te haya metido en la tierra del cananeo, como te ha jurado a ti y a tus padres, y cuando te la hubiere dado,

12 t hat thou shalt set apart unto Jehovah all that openeth the womb, and every firstling which thou hast that cometh of a beast; the males shall be Jehovah's.

dedicarás a Jehová todo aquel que abriere matriz, y asimismo todo primer nacido de tus animales; los machos serán de Jehová.

13 A nd every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck: and all the first-born of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem.

Mas todo primogénito de asno redimirás con un cordero; y si no lo redimieres, quebrarás su cerviz. También redimirás al primogénito de tus hijos.

14 A nd it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

Y cuando mañana te pregunte tu hijo, diciendo: ¿Qué es esto?, le dirás: Jehová nos sacó con mano fuerte de Egipto, de casa de servidumbre;

15 a nd it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that Jehovah slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast: therefore I sacrifice to Jehovah all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the first-born of my sons I redeem.

y endureciéndose Faraón para no dejarnos ir, Jehová hizo morir en la tierra de Egipto a todo primogénito, desde el primogénito humano hasta el primogénito de la bestia; y por esta causa yo sacrifico para Jehová todo primogénito macho, y redimo al primogénito de mis hijos.

16 A nd it shall be for a sign upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand Jehovah brought us forth out of Egypt.

Te será, pues, como una señal sobre tu mano, y por un memorial delante de tus ojos, por cuanto Jehová nos sacó de Egipto con mano fuerte. La columna de nube y de fuego

17 A nd it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

Y luego que Faraón dejó ir al pueblo, Dios no los llevó por el camino de la tierra de los filisteos, que estaba cerca; porque dijo Dios: Para que no se arrepienta el pueblo cuando vea la guerra, y se vuelva a Egipto.

18 b ut God led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt.

Mas hizo Dios que el pueblo rodease por el camino del desierto del Mar Rojo. Y subieron los hijos de Israel de Egipto armados.

19 A nd Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you.

Tomó también consigo Moisés los huesos de José, el cual había juramentado a los hijos de Israel, diciendo: Dios ciertamente os visitará, y haréis subir mis huesos de aquí con vosotros.

20 A nd they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness.

Y partieron de Sucot y acamparon en Etam, a la entrada del desierto.

21 A nd Jehovah went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light, that they might go by day and by night:

Y Jehová iba delante de ellos de día en una columna de nube para guiarlos por el camino, y de noche en una columna de fuego para alumbrarles, a fin de que anduviesen de día y de noche.

22 t he pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, departed not from before the people.

Nunca se apartó de delante del pueblo la columna de nube de día, ni de noche la columna de fuego.
