1 ¶ Now the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel; and he was not counted as the firstborn.

Micaía su hijo, Reaía su hijo, Baal su hijo,

6 B eerah, his son, whom Tilgathpilneser, king of Assyria, carried away captive. He was prince of the Reubenites.

Beera su hijo, a quien Tilgat-pilneser, rey de los asirios, se llevó al destierro; éste fue jefe de los rubenitas.

7 A nd his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned, had as princes, Jeiel and Zechariah.

Y hacia el oriente habitó hasta la entrada del desierto desde el río Eufrates, porque su ganado había aumentado en la tierra de Galaad.

10 A nd in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand, and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.

En los días de Saúl hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, los cuales cayeron en sus manos, de modo que ellos ocuparon sus tiendas por toda la tierra al oriente de Galaad.

11 A nd the sons of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah.

Y los hijos de Gad habitaron frente a ellos en la tierra de Basán, hasta Salca.

12 J oel, the chief, and Shapham, second, and Jaanai and Shaphat in Bashan.

Joel fue el jefe, y Safán el segundo, después Jaanai y Safat en Basán.

13 A nd their brethren of the house of their fathers were Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jachan, Zia, and Heber, seven.

Y los parientes de sus casas paternas fueron Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacán, Zía y Heber: siete.

14 T hese were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz.

Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail, hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz;

15 A lso Ahi, the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was the prince of the house of their fathers.

Ahí, hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, fue jefe de sus casas paternas.

16 A nd they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan and in her towns and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their goings forth.

Y habitaron en Galaad, en Basán y en sus ciudades, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón, hasta sus fronteras.

17 A ll these were reckoned by their generations in the days of Jotham, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, king of Israel.

Todos éstos fueron inscritos por genealogías en los días de Jotam, rey de Judá, y en los días de Jeroboam, rey de Israel.

18 ¶ The sons of Reuben and of Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh, valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword and to shoot with bow and skillful in war were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, that went out to the war.

Los hijos de Rubén y de Gad y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada y tiraban con arco, y que eran diestros en batalla, fueron cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a la batalla.

19 A nd they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur and Nephish and Nodab.

E hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, Jetur, Nafis y Nodab.

20 A nd they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand and all that were with them, for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them because they put their trust in him.

21 A nd they took away their livestock; fifty thousand camels and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep and two thousand asses and one hundred thousand persons.

22 F or there fell down many slain because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.

Muchos, pues, cayeron muertos, porque la guerra era de Dios. Y habitaron en su lugar hasta el destierro.

23 A nd the sons of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land; they increased from Bashan unto Baalhermon and Senir and unto Mount Hermon.

Los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés habitaron en la tierra; eran muy numerosos desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón, Senir y el monte Hermón.

24 A nd these were the heads of the houses of their fathers: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the houses of their fathers.

Y estos fueron los jefes de sus casas paternas: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías y Jahdiel, hombres fuertes de gran valor, hombres de renombre, jefes de sus casas paternas.

25 B ut they rebelled against the God of their fathers and fornicated after the gods of the people of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

Pero traicionaron al Dios de sus padres, y se prostituyeron con los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, los cuales Dios había destruido delante de ellos.

26 A nd for this the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul, king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser, king of Assyria, and he carried away the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh and brought them unto Halah and Habor and Hara and to the River Gozan, unto this day.

Por lo cual el Dios de Israel movió el espíritu de Pul, rey de Asiria, o sea, el espíritu de Tilgat-pilneser, rey de Asiria, y los llevó al destierro, es decir, a los rubenitas, a los gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor, a Hara y al río de Gozán, hasta el día de hoy.
