1 ¶ The burden of Moab. Certainly in the night Ar of Moab was laid waste and brought to silence; certainly in the night Kir of Moab was laid waste and brought to silence.

Profecía sobre Moab. Ciertamente en una noche Ar de Moab fue devastada y destruida, ciertamente en una noche Kir de Moab fue devastada y destruida.

2 H e is gone up to Bajith and to Dibon, the altars, to weep; Moab shall howl over Nebo and over Medeba: every head among her shall become bald, and every beard shall be cut off.

Han subido al templo y a Dibón, a los lugares altos a llorar. Sobre Nebo y sobre Medeba gime Moab; en todas sus cabezas, calvicie; toda barba, rasurada.

3 I n their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth; on the tops of their houses and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping as they come down.

En sus calles se han ceñido de cilicio; en sus terrados y en sus plazas todos gimen, deshechos en lágrimas.

4 A nd Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even unto Jahaz; therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; each one of them shall cry out for his soul.

También claman Hesbón y Eleale, se oye su voz hasta Jahaza. Por tanto, gritarán los hombres armados de Moab, su alma tiembla dentro de ella.

5 M y heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall go up with weeping by the hill of Luhith unto Zoar, a heifer of three years; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.

Mi corazón clama por Moab; sus fugitivos se extienden hasta Zoar y Eglat-selisiya, y suben la cuesta de Luhit llorando; ciertamente en el camino a Horonaim dan gritos de angustia por su ruina.

6 ¶ For the waters of Nimrim have run out: for the grass of the courtyard is withered away, the herb fails, there is no green thing.

Porque las aguas de Nimrim se han agotado, ciertamente la hierba está seca, la hierba tierna ha muerto, no hay nada verde.

7 T herefore that which each one has laid up and their riches they shall carry away to the brook of the willows.

Por tanto, la abundancia que han adquirido y almacenado se la llevan al otro lado del arroyo Arabim.

8 F or the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim and the clamour thereof unto Beerelim.

Porque el clamor ha dado vuelta por el territorio de Moab; hasta Eglaim llega su gemir, hasta Beer-elim su gemido.

9 F or the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood; for I will bring more upon Dimon: lions upon him that escapes of Moab and upon the remnant of the land.

Porque las aguas de Dimón están llenas de sangre; ciertamente añadiré más sobre Dimón: un león sobre los fugitivos de Moab y sobre el remanente de la tierra.
