1 A nd Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.

Jesús salió del templo, y ya se iba cuando sus discípulos se acercaron para mostrarle los edificios del templo.

2 B ut he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Él les dijo: «¿Ven todo esto? De cierto les digo, que no quedará aquí piedra sobre piedra. Todo será derribado.» Señales antes del fin

3 A nd as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Mientras Jesús estaba sentado en el monte de los Olivos, los discípulos se le acercaron por separado, y le dijeron: «Dinos, ¿cuándo sucederá todo esto, y cuál será la señal de tu venida y del fin del mundo?»

4 A nd Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.

Jesús les respondió: «Cuídense de que nadie los engañe.

5 F or many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.

Porque muchos vendrán en mi nombre, y dirán: “Yo soy el Cristo”, y engañarán a muchos.

6 A nd ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.

Ustedes oirán hablar de guerras y de rumores de guerras; pero no se angustien, porque es necesario que todo esto suceda; pero aún no será el fin.

7 F or nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.

Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino, y habrá hambre y terremotos en distintos lugares.

8 B ut all these things are the beginning of travail.

Todo esto será sólo el comienzo de los dolores.

9 T hen shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.

»Entonces los entregarán a ustedes para ser torturados, y los matarán, y todos los odiarán por causa de mi nombre.

10 A nd then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.

En aquel tiempo muchos tropezarán, y unos a otros se traicionarán y odiarán.

11 A nd many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray.

Muchos falsos profetas se levantarán, y engañarán a muchos;

12 A nd because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.

y tanto aumentará la maldad que el amor de muchos se enfriará.

13 B ut he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

Pero el que resista hasta el fin, será salvo.

14 A nd this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

Y este evangelio del reino será predicado en todo el mundo para testimonio a todas las naciones, y entonces vendrá el fin.

15 W hen therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),

»Por tanto, cuando en el lugar santo vean la abominación desoladora, de la que habló el profeta Daniel (el que lee, que entienda),

16 t hen let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:

los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes;

17 l et him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house:

El que esté en la azotea, no baje para llevarse algo de su casa;

18 a nd let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.

y el que esté en el campo, no vuelva atrás a tomar su capa.

19 B ut woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days!

Pero ¡ay de las que en esos días estén embarazadas o amamantando!

20 A nd pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath:

Pídanle a Dios que no tengan que huir en invierno ni en día de reposo,

21 f or then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.

porque entonces habrá una gran tribulación, como no la ha habido desde el principio del mundo hasta ahora, ni la habrá jamás.

22 A nd except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Si aquellos días no fueran acortados, nadie sería salvo, pero serán acortados por causa de los escogidos.

23 T hen if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe it not.

Así que, si alguien les dice: “Miren, aquí está el Cristo”, o “Miren, allí está”, no lo crean.

24 F or there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Porque surgirán falsos cristos y falsos profetas, y harán grandes señales y prodigios, de tal manera que, de ser posible, engañarán incluso a los elegidos.

25 B ehold, I have told you beforehand.

Ya los he prevenido de todo.

26 I f therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe it not.

Así que, si les dicen: “Miren, está en el desierto”, no vayan; o si les dicen: “Miren, está en los aposentos”, no lo crean.

27 F or as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

Porque la venida del Hijo del Hombre será como el relámpago que sale del oriente y puede verse hasta el occidente.

28 W heresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Porque los buitres se juntan donde está el cadáver. La venida del Hijo del Hombre

29 B ut immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

»Inmediatamente después de la aflicción de aquellos días, el sol se oscurecerá y la luna dejará de brillar, las estrellas caerán del cielo, y los poderes celestiales se estremecerán.

30 a nd then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Entonces aparecerá en el cielo la señal del Hijo del Hombre, y todas las tribus de la tierra se lamentarán, y verán al Hijo del Hombre venir sobre las nubes del cielo, con gran poder y gloria.

31 A nd he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Y enviará a sus ángeles con gran voz de trompeta, y de los cuatro vientos, desde un extremo al otro del cielo, ellos juntarán a sus elegidos.

32 N ow from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;

»De la higuera deben aprender esta parábola: Cuando sus ramas se ponen tiernas, y le brotan las hojas, ustedes saben que el verano ya está cerca.

33 e ven so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors.

De la misma manera, cuando ustedes vean todas estas cosas, sepan que la hora ya está cerca, y que está a la puerta.

34 V erily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.

De cierto les digo, que todo esto sucederá antes de que pase esta generación.

35 H eaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.

36 B ut of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only.

»En cuanto al día y la hora, nadie lo sabe, ni siquiera los ángeles de los cielos. Sólo mi Padre lo sabe.

37 A nd as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

La venida del Hijo del Hombre será como en los días de Noé;

38 F or as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

pues así como en los días antes del diluvio la gente comía y bebía, y se casaba y daba en casamiento, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca,

39 a nd they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

y no entendieron hasta que vino el diluvio y se los llevó a todos, así será también la venida del Hijo del Hombre.

40 T hen shall two man be in the field; one is taken, and one is left:

Entonces, estarán dos en el campo, y uno de ellos será tomado, y el otro será dejado.

41 t wo women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.

Dos mujeres estarán en el molino, y una de ellas será tomada, y la otra será dejada.

42 W atch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh.

Por tanto, estén atentos, porque no saben a qué hora va a venir su Señor.

43 B ut know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Pero sepan esto, que si el dueño de la casa supiera a qué hora va a venir el ladrón, se quedaría despierto y no dejaría que robaran su casa.

44 T herefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Por tanto, también ustedes estén preparados, porque el Hijo del Hombre vendrá a la hora que menos lo esperen.

45 W ho then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

»¿Quién es el siervo fiel y prudente, al cual su señor deja encargado de los de su casa para que los alimente a su tiempo?

46 B lessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Bien por el siervo que, cuando su señor venga, lo encuentre haciendo así.

47 V erily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.

De cierto les digo que lo pondrá a cargo de todos sus bienes.

48 B ut if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth;

Pero si aquel siervo malo dice en su corazón: “Mi señor tarda en venir”,

49 a nd shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;

y comienza a golpear a sus consiervos, y aun a comer y a beber con los borrachos,

50 t he lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not,

el señor de aquel siervo vendrá en el día menos pensado, y a una hora que nadie sabe,

51 a nd shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

y lo castigará duramente, y le hará correr la misma suerte de los hipócritas. Allí habrá llanto y rechinar de dientes.
