1 A nd I, brethren, when I came unto you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.

Así que, hermanos, cuando fui a ustedes para anunciarles el testimonio de Dios, no lo hice con palabras elocuentes ni sabias.

2 F or I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Más bien, al estar entre ustedes me propuse no saber de ninguna otra cosa, sino de Jesucristo, y de éste crucificado.

3 A nd I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

Estuve entre ustedes con tanta debilidad, que temblaba yo de miedo.

4 A nd my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

Ni mi palabra ni mi predicación se basaron en palabras persuasivas de sabiduría humana, sino en la demostración del Espíritu y del poder,

5 t hat your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

para que la fe de ustedes no esté fundada en la sabiduría de los hombres, sino en el poder de Dios. La revelación por el Espíritu de Dios

6 W e speak wisdom, however, among them that are fullgrown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought:

Sin embargo, entre los que han alcanzado la madurez sí hablamos con sabiduría, pero no con la sabiduría de este mundo ni la de sus gobernantes, los cuales perecen.

7 b ut we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, even the wisdom that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory:

Más bien hablamos de la sabiduría oculta y misteriosa de Dios, que desde hace mucho tiempo Dios había predestinado para nuestra gloria,

8 w hich none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory:

sabiduría que ninguno de los gobernantes de este mundo conoció, porque si la hubieran conocido, nunca habrían crucificado al Señor de la gloria.

9 b ut as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him.

Como está escrito: «Las cosas que ningún ojo vio, ni ningún oído escuchó, Ni han penetrado en el corazón del hombre, Son las que Dios ha preparado para los que lo aman.»

10 B ut unto us God revealed them through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Pero Dios nos las reveló a nosotros por medio del Espíritu, porque el Espíritu lo examina todo, aun las profundidades de Dios.

11 F or who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God.

Porque ¿quién de entre los hombres puede saber las cosas del hombre, sino el espíritu del hombre que está en él? Así mismo, nadie conoce las cosas de Dios, sino el Espíritu de Dios.

12 B ut we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God.

Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que proviene de Dios, para que entendamos lo que Dios nos ha dado,

13 W hich things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual words.

de lo cual también hablamos, pero no con palabras aprendidas de la sabiduría humana, sino con las que enseña el Espíritu, que explican las cosas espirituales con términos espirituales.

14 N ow the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged.

Pero el hombre natural no percibe las cosas que son del Espíritu de Dios, porque para él son una locura; y tampoco las puede entender, porque tienen que discernirse espiritualmente.

15 B ut he that is spiritual judgeth all things, and he himself is judged of no man.

En cambio, el hombre espiritual juzga todas las cosas, pero él no está sujeto al juicio de nadie.

16 F or who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Porque ¿quién conoció la mente del Señor? ¿O quién podrá instruirlo? Pero nosotros tenemos la mente de Cristo.
