1 A nd Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way; and his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.

Jesus saiu do templo e, enquanto caminhava, seus discípulos aproximaram-se dele para lhe mostrar as construções do templo.

2 B ut he answered and said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

“Vocês estão vendo tudo isto?”, perguntou ele. “Eu lhes garanto que não ficará aqui pedra sobre pedra; serão todas derrubadas”.

3 A nd as he sat on the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Tendo Jesus se assentado no monte das Oliveiras, os discípulos dirigiram-se a ele em particular e disseram: “Dize-nos, quando acontecerão essas coisas? E qual será o sinal da tua vinda e do fim dos tempos?”

4 A nd Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man lead you astray.

Jesus respondeu: “Cuidado, que ninguém os engane.

5 F or many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall lead many astray.

Pois muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: ‘Eu sou o Cristo!’ e enganarão a muitos.

6 A nd ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for these things must needs come to pass; but the end is not yet.

Vocês ouvirão falar de guerras e rumores de guerras, mas não tenham medo. É necessário que tais coisas aconteçam, mas ainda não é o fim.

7 F or nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places.

Nação se levantará contra nação, e reino contra reino. Haverá fomes e terremotos em vários lugares.

8 B ut all these things are the beginning of travail.

Tudo isso será o início das dores.

9 T hen shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.

“Então eles os entregarão para serem perseguidos e condenados à morte, e vocês serão odiados por todas as nações por minha causa.

10 A nd then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another.

Naquele tempo muitos ficarão escandalizados, trairão e odiarão uns aos outros,

11 A nd many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray.

e numerosos falsos profetas surgirão e enganarão a muitos.

12 A nd because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold.

Devido ao aumento da maldade, o amor de muitos esfriará,

13 B ut he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.

mas aquele que perseverar até o fim será salvo.

14 A nd this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.

E este evangelho do Reino será pregado em todo o mundo como testemunho a todas as nações, e então virá o fim.

15 W hen therefore ye see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let him that readeth understand),

“Assim, quando vocês virem ‘o sacrilégio terrível’, do qual falou o profeta Daniel, no Lugar Santo — quem lê, entenda —

16 t hen let them that are in Judaea flee unto the mountains:

então, os que estiverem na Judéia fujam para os montes.

17 l et him that is on the housetop not go down to take out things that are in his house:

Quem estiver no telhado de sua casa não desça para tirar dela coisa alguma.

18 a nd let him that is in the field not return back to take his cloak.

Quem estiver no campo não volte para pegar seu manto.

19 B ut woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days!

Como serão terríveis aqueles dias para as grávidas e para as que estiverem amamentando!

20 A nd pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on a sabbath:

Orem para que a fuga de vocês não aconteça no inverno nem no sábado.

21 f or then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be.

Porque haverá então grande tribulação, como nunca houve desde o princípio do mundo até agora, nem jamais haverá.

22 A nd except those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Se aqueles dias não fossem abreviados, ninguém sobreviveria; mas, por causa dos eleitos, aqueles dias serão abreviados.

23 T hen if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is the Christ, or, Here; believe it not.

Se, então, alguém lhes disser: ‘Vejam, aqui está o Cristo!’ ou: ‘Ali está ele!’, não acreditem.

24 F or there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Pois aparecerão falsos cristos e falsos profetas que realizarão grandes sinais e maravilhas para, se possível, enganar até os eleitos.

25 B ehold, I have told you beforehand.

Vejam que eu os avisei antecipadamente.

26 I f therefore they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the wilderness; go not forth: Behold, he is in the inner chambers; believe it not.

“Assim, se alguém lhes disser: ‘Ele está lá, no deserto!’, não saiam; ou: ‘Ali está ele, dentro da casa!’, não acreditem.

27 F or as the lightning cometh forth from the east, and is seen even unto the west; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

Porque assim como o relâmpago sai do Oriente e se mostra no Ocidente, assim será a vinda do Filho do homem.

28 W heresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Onde houver um cadáver, aí se ajuntarão os abutres.

29 B ut immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

“Imediatamente após a tribulação daqueles dias “‘o sol escurecerá, e a lua não dará a sua luz; as estrelas cairão do céu, e os poderes celestes serão abalados’.

30 a nd then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

“Então aparecerá no céu o sinal do Filho do homem, e todas as nações da terra se lamentarão e verão o Filho do homem vindo nas nuvens do céu com poder e grande glória.

31 A nd he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

E ele enviará os seus anjos com grande som de trombeta, e estes reunirão os seus eleitos dos quatro ventos, de uma a outra extremidade dos céus.

32 N ow from the fig tree learn her parable: when her branch is now become tender, and putteth forth its leaves, ye know that the summer is nigh;

“Aprendam a lição da figueira: quando seus ramos se renovam e suas folhas começam a brotar, vocês sabem que o verão está próximo.

33 e ven so ye also, when ye see all these things, know ye that he is nigh, even at the doors.

Assim também, quando virem todas estas coisas, saibam que ele está próximo, às portas.

34 V erily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.

Eu lhes asseguro que não passará esta geração até que todas estas coisas aconteçam.

35 H eaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Os céus e a terra passarão, mas as minhas palavras jamais passarão. O Dia e a Hora São Desconhecidos

36 B ut of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only.

“Quanto ao dia e à hora ninguém sabe, nem os anjos dos céus, nem o Filho, senão somente o Pai.

37 A nd as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

Como foi nos dias de Noé, assim também será na vinda do Filho do homem.

38 F or as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

Pois nos dias anteriores ao Dilúvio, o povo vivia comendo e bebendo, casando-se e dando-se em casamento, até o dia em que Noé entrou na arca;

39 a nd they knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

e eles nada perceberam, até que veio o Dilúvio e os levou a todos. Assim acontecerá na vinda do Filho do homem.

40 T hen shall two man be in the field; one is taken, and one is left:

Dois homens estarão no campo: um será levado e o outro deixado.

41 t wo women shall be grinding at the mill; one is taken, and one is left.

Duas mulheres estarão trabalhando num moinho: uma será levada e a outra deixada.

42 W atch therefore: for ye know not on what day your Lord cometh.

“Portanto, vigiem, porque vocês não sabem em que dia virá o seu Senhor.

43 B ut know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through.

Mas entendam isto: se o dono da casa soubesse a que hora da noite o ladrão viria, ele ficaria de guarda e não deixaria que a sua casa fosse arrombada.

44 T herefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Assim, vocês também precisam estar preparados, porque o Filho do homem virá numa hora em que vocês menos esperam.

45 W ho then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

“Quem é, pois, o servo fiel e sensato, a quem seu senhor encarrega dos de sua casa para lhes dar alimento no tempo devido?

46 B lessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Feliz o servo que seu senhor encontrar fazendo assim quando voltar.

47 V erily I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he hath.

Garanto-lhes que ele o encarregará de todos os seus bens.

48 B ut if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord tarrieth;

Mas suponham que esse servo seja mau e diga a si mesmo: ‘Meu senhor está demorando’,

49 a nd shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;

e então comece a bater em seus conservos e a comer e a beber com os beberrões.

50 t he lord of that servant shall come in a day when he expecteth not, and in an hour when he knoweth not,

O senhor daquele servo virá num dia em que ele não o espera e numa hora que não sabe.

51 a nd shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

Ele o punirá severamente e lhe dará lugar com os hipócritas, onde haverá choro e ranger de dentes.
