1 H ear the right, O Jehovah, attend unto my cry; Give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

Señor, ¡escúchame! ¡Atiende mi clamor de justicia! ¡Presta oído a mi oración, pues no brota de labios mentirosos!

2 L et my sentence come forth from thy presence; Let thine eyes look upon equity.

¡Sé tú quien me reivindique! ¡Posa tus ojos en mi rectitud!

3 T hou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

Tú has examinado mi corazón; por las noches has venido a verme. ¡Ponme a prueba, que nada malo hallarás! ¡Nada malo han pronunciado mis labios!

4 A s for the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the ways of the violent.

Yo no hago lo que otros hacen; al contrario, tomo en cuenta tus palabras y me alejo de caminos de violencia.

5 M y steps have held fast to thy paths, My feet have not slipped.

Sostén mis pasos en tus sendas para que mis pies no resbalen.

6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O God: Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

Dios mío, yo te invoco porque tú me respondes; ¡inclina a mí tu oído, y escucha mis palabras!

7 S how thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them that take refuge in thee From those that rise up against them.

Tú, que salvas de sus perseguidores a los que buscan tu protección, ¡dame una muestra de tu gran misericordia!

8 K eep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

¡Cuídame como a la niña de tus ojos! ¡Escóndeme bajo la sombra de tus alas!

9 F rom the wicked that oppress me, My deadly enemies, that compass me about.

¡No dejes que me vean mis malvados enemigos, los opresores que quieren quitarme la vida!

10 T hey are inclosed in their own fat: With their mouth they speak proudly.

Se regodean en su soberbia, y profieren palabras insolentes.

11 T hey have now compassed us in our steps; They set their eyes to cast us down to the earth.

Me tienen rodeado por completo, y sólo esperan verme caer por tierra.

12 H e is like a lion that is greedy of his prey, And as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

Parecen leones que esperan a su presa; parecen cachorros, echados en su escondite.

13 A rise, O Jehovah, Confront him, cast him down: Deliver my soul from the wicked by thy sword;

¡Reacciona, Señor! ¡Enfréntate a ellos, y ponlos en vergüenza! ¡Con tu espada, ponme a salvo de esos malvados!

14 F rom men by thy hand, O Jehovah, From men of the world, whose portion is in this life, And whose belly thou fillest with thy treasure: They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

¡Con tu mano, Señor, sálvame de estos malvados que viven obsesionados con los bienes de este mundo! ¡Ya los has saciado con tus riquezas, y hasta les sobra para sus hijos más pequeños!

15 A s for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with beholding thy form.

A mí me bastará con ver tu rostro de justicia; ¡satisfecho estaré al despertar y contemplarte!
