1 B less Jehovah, O my soul. O Jehovah my God, thou art very great; Thou art clothed with honor and majesty:

¡Bendice, alma mía, al Señor! ¡Cuán grande eres, Señor mi Dios! ¡Estás rodeado de gloria y de esplendor!

2 W ho coverest thyself with light as with a garment; Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain;

¡Te has revestido de luz, como de una vestidura! ¡Extiendes los cielos como una cortina!

3 W ho layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters; Who maketh the clouds his chariot; Who walketh upon the wings of the wind;

¡Dispones tus mansiones sobre las aguas! ¡Las nubes son tu lujoso carruaje, y te transportas sobre las alas del viento!

4 W ho maketh winds his messengers; Flames of fire his ministers;

¡Los vientos son tus mensajeros! ¡Las llamas de fuego están a tu servicio!

5 W ho laid the foundations of the earth, That it should not be moved for ever.

Tú afirmaste la tierra sobre sus cimientos, y de allí nada los moverá.

6 T hou coveredst it with the deep as with a vesture; The waters stood above the mountains.

¡Con las aguas del abismo la cubriste! Las aguas se detuvieron sobre los montes,

7 A t thy rebuke they fled; At the voice of thy thunder they hasted away

pero las reprendiste, y huyeron; al escuchar tu voz, bajaron presurosas.

8 ( The mountains rose, the valleys sank down) Unto the place which thou hadst founded for them.

Subieron a los montes, bajaron por los valles, al sitio que les habías destinado.

9 T hou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; That they turn not again to cover the earth.

Les pusiste un límite, que no debían cruzar, para que no volvieran a cubrir la tierra.

10 H e sendeth forth springs into the valleys; They run among the mountains;

Tú llenas las fuentes con los arroyos que corren ligeros entre los montes;

11 T hey give drink to every beast of the field; The wild asses quench their thirst.

allí apagan su sed los animales salvajes; allí los asnos monteses mitigan su sed.

12 B y them the birds of the heavens have their habitation; They sing among the branches.

En sus riberas anidan las aves del cielo, y entre las ramas se escuchan sus trinos.

13 H e watereth the mountains from his chambers: The earth is filled with the fruit of thy works.

Desde las alturas riegas los montes, y la tierra se sacia con el fruto de tus obras.

14 H e causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, And herb for the service of man; That he may bring forth food out of the earth,

Haces crecer la hierba para los ganados, y las plantas que el hombre cultiva para sacar de la tierra el pan que come

15 A nd wine that maketh glad the heart of man, And oil to make his face to shine, And bread that strengtheneth man's heart.

y el vino que le alegra el corazón, el aceite que da brillo a su rostro, y el pan que sustenta su vida.

16 T he trees of Jehovah are filled with moisture, The cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;

Se llenan de savia los árboles del Señor, los cedros del Líbano que él mismo plantó.

17 W here the birds make their nests: As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house.

En sus ramas anidan las aves; en las hayas hacen su nido las cigüeñas;

18 T he high mountains are for the wild goats; The rocks are a refuge for the conies.

en las altas montañas retozan las cabras monteses; en las peñas se resguardan los damanes.

19 H e appointed the moon for seasons: The sun knoweth his going down.

Tú hiciste la luna para medir los tiempos; el sol sabe cuándo debe ocultarse.

20 T hou makest darkness, and it is night, Wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth.

Dejas caer las sombras, y anochece; y entonces corretean los animales salvajes.

21 T he young lions roar after their prey, And seek their food from God.

Rugen los leones que van tras su presa, y reclaman la comida que Dios les provee.

22 T he sun ariseth, they get them away, And lay them down in their dens.

Cuando sale el sol, corren a sus cuevas y satisfechos se tienden a descansar.

23 M an goeth forth unto his work And to his labor until the evening.

Sale entonces el hombre a sus labores, y trabaja hasta que cae la noche.

24 O Jehovah, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all: The earth is full of thy riches.

¡Tus obras, Señor, son innumerables! ¡Todas las hiciste con gran sabiduría! ¡La tierra está llena de tus criaturas!

25 Y onder is the sea, great and wide, Wherein are things creeping innumerable, Both small and great beasts.

¡Vean el vasto mar! ¡Contemplen su grandeza! En él se mueven incontables seres vivos, lo mismo grandes que pequeños.

26 T here go the ships; There is leviathan, whom thou hast formed to play therein.

Allí navegan las grandes naves; allí está Leviatán, que creaste para jugar con él.

27 T hese wait all for thee, That thou mayest give them their food in due season.

Todos los seres esperan de ti que a su tiempo les des de comer.

28 T hou givest unto them, they gather; Thou openest thy hand, they are satisfied with good.

Si abres tu mano y les das su pan, ellos lo toman y quedan satisfechos.

29 T hou hidest thy face, they are troubled; Thou takest away their breath, they die, And return to their dust.

Si te escondes de ellos, se desconciertan; si les retiras su espíritu, mueren y vuelven al polvo.

30 T hou sendest forth thy Spirit, they are created; And thou renewest the face of the ground.

Pero si envías tu espíritu, vuelven a la vida, y así renuevas la faz de la tierra.

31 L et the glory of Jehovah endure for ever; Let Jehovah rejoice in his works:

¡Sea tu gloria eterna, Señor! ¡Que te regocijen las obras que has hecho!

32 W ho looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.

Si miras la tierra, ésta tiembla; si tocas los montes, éstos echan humo.

33 I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.

Señor, ¡toda mi vida te cantaré! Dios mío, ¡yo te cantaré salmos mientras viva!

34 L et thy meditation be sweet unto him: I will rejoice in Jehovah.

Señor, dígnate agradarte de mis pensamientos, pues yo hallo en ti mi alegría.

35 L et sinners be consumed out of the earth. And let the wicked be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Praise ye Jehovah.

Que sean borrados de la tierra los malvados; ¡que dejen de existir los malhechores! ¡Bendice, alma mía, al Señor! ¡Aleluya!
