1 A l tercer día se celebró una boda en Caná de Galilea, y estaba allí la madre de Jesús;

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there;

2 y también Jesús fue invitado, con sus discípulos, a la boda.

and both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding.

3 C uando se acabó el vino, la madre de Jesús le dijo: No tienen vino.

When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”

4 Y Jesús le dijo: Mujer, ¿qué nos va a ti y a mí en esto ? Todavía no ha llegado mi hora.

And Jesus said to her, “ Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come.”

5 S u madre dijo a los que servían: Haced todo lo que El os diga.

His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

6 Y había allí seis tinajas de piedra, puestas para ser usadas en el rito de la purificación de los judíos; en cada una cabían dos o tres cántaros.

Now there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each.

7 J esús les dijo: Llenad de agua las tinajas. Y las llenaron hasta el borde.

Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim.

8 E ntonces les dijo: Sacad ahora un poco y llevadlo al maestresala. Y se lo llevaron.

And He said to them, “Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.” So they took it to him.

9 C uando el maestresala probó el agua convertida en vino, y como no sabía de dónde era (pero los que servían, que habían sacado el agua, lo sabían), el maestresala llamó al novio,

When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom,

10 y le dijo: Todo hombre sirve primero el vino bueno, y cuando ya han tomado bastante, entonces el inferior; pero tú has guardado hasta ahora el vino bueno.

and said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.”

11 E ste principio de sus señales hizo Jesús en Caná de Galilea, y manifestó su gloria, y sus discípulos creyeron en El.

This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.

12 D espués de esto bajó a Capernaúm, El, con su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos; pero allí no se quedaron muchos días. Jesús echa a los mercaderes del templo

After this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His disciples; and they stayed there a few days. First Passover—Cleansing the Temple

13 L a Pascua de los judíos estaba cerca, y Jesús subió a Jerusalén,

The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 y encontró en el templo a los que vendían bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los que cambiaban dinero allí sentados.

And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables.

15 Y haciendo un azote de cuerdas, echó a todos fuera del templo, con las ovejas y los bueyes; desparramó las monedas de los cambistas y volcó las mesas;

And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables;

16 y dijo a los que vendían palomas: Quitad esto de aquí; no hagáis de la casa de mi Padre una casa de comercio.

and to those who were selling the doves He said, “Take these things away; stop making My Father’s house a place of business.”

17 S us discípulos se acordaron de que estaba escrito: El celo por tu casa me consumira.

His disciples remembered that it was written, “ Zeal for Your house will consume me.”

18 E ntonces los judíos respondieron y le dijeron: Ya que haces estas cosas, ¿qué señal nos muestras?

The Jews then said to Him, “ What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?”

19 J esús respondió y les dijo: Destruid este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré.

Jesus answered them, “ Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

20 E ntonces los judíos dijeron: En cuarenta y seis años fue edificado este templo, ¿y tú lo levantarás en tres días?

The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”

21 P ero El hablaba del templo de su cuerpo.

But He was speaking of the temple of His body.

22 P or eso, cuando resucitó de los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron de que había dicho esto; y creyeron en la Escritura y en la palabra que Jesús había hablado. Los primeros creyentes en Jerusalén

So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

23 C uando estaba en Jerusalén durante la fiesta de la Pascua, muchos creyeron en su nombre al ver las señales que hacía.

Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing.

24 P ero Jesús, por su parte, no se confiaba a ellos, porque conocía a todos,

But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men,

25 y no tenía necesidad de que nadie le diera testimonio del hombre, pues El sabía lo que había en el hombre.

and because He did not need anyone to testify concerning man, for He Himself knew what was in man.
