1 A nd Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee.

Moisés respondió, y dijo: ¿Y si no me creen, ni escuchan mi voz ? Porque quizá digan: “No se te ha aparecido el Señor.”

2 A nd the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

Y el Señor le dijo: ¿Qué es eso que tienes en la mano? Y él respondió: Una vara.

3 A nd he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

Entonces El dijo: Echala en tierra. Y él la echó en tierra y se convirtió en una serpiente; y Moisés huyó de ella.

4 A nd the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

Pero el Señor dijo a Moisés: Extiende tu mano y agárra la por la cola. Y él extendió la mano, la agarró, y se volvió vara en su mano.

5 t hat they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

Por esto creerán que se te ha aparecido el Señor, el Dios de sus padres, el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob.

6 A nd the Lord said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

Y añadió el Señor: Ahora mete la mano en tu seno. Y él metió la mano en su seno, y cuando la sacó, he aquí, su mano estaba leprosa, blanca como la nieve.

7 A nd he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.

Entonces El dijo: Vuelve a meter la mano en tu seno. Y él volvió a meter la mano en su seno, y cuando la sacó de su seno, he aquí, se había vuelto como el resto de su carne.

8 A nd it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

Y acontecerá que si no te creen, ni obedecen el testimonio de la primera señal, quizá crean el testimonio de la segunda señal.

9 A nd it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

Y sucederá que si todavía no creen estas dos señales, ni escuchan tu voz, entonces sacarás agua del Nilo y la derramarás sobre la tierra seca; y el agua que saques del Nilo se convertirá en sangre sobre la tierra seca.

10 A nd Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

Entonces Moisés dijo al Señor: Por favor, Señor, nunca he sido hombre elocuente, ni ayer ni en tiempos pasados, ni aun después de que has hablado a tu siervo; porque soy tardo en el habla y torpe de lengua.

11 A nd the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord ?

Y el Señor le dijo: ¿Quién ha hecho la boca del hombre? ¿O quién hace al hombre mudo o sordo, con vista o ciego ? ¿No soy yo, el Señor ?

12 N ow therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Ahora pues, ve, y yo estaré con tu boca, y te enseñaré lo que has de hablar.

13 A nd he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.

Pero él dijo: Te ruego, Señor, envía ahora el mensaje por medio de quien tú quieras.

14 A nd the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

Entonces se encendió la ira del Señor contra Moisés, y le dijo: ¿No está allí tu hermano Aarón, el levita? Yo sé que él habla bien. Y además, he aquí, él sale a recibirte; al verte, se alegrará en su corazón.

15 A nd thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

Y tú le hablarás, y pondrás las palabras en su boca; y yo estaré con tu boca y con su boca y os enseñaré lo que habéis de hacer.

16 A nd he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.

Además, él hablará por ti al pueblo; y él te servirá como boca y tú serás para él como Dios.

17 A nd thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.

Y tomarás en tu mano esta vara con la cual harás las señales. Moisés regresa a Egipto

18 A nd Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

Moisés se fue y volvió a casa de su suegro Jetro, y le dijo: Te ruego que me dejes ir para volver a mis hermanos que están en Egipto, y ver si aún viven. Y Jetro dijo a Moisés: Ve en paz.

19 A nd the Lord said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.

Y el Señor dijo a Moisés en Madián: Ve, vuelve a Egipto, porque han muerto todos los hombres que buscaban tu vida.

20 A nd Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

Moisés tomó su mujer y sus hijos, los montó sobre un asno y volvió a la tierra de Egipto. Tomó también Moisés la vara de Dios en su mano.

21 A nd the Lord said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

Y el Señor dijo a Moisés: Cuando vuelvas a Egipto, mira que hagas delante de Faraón todas las maravillas que he puesto en tu mano; pero yo endureceré su corazón de modo que no dejará ir al pueblo.

22 A nd thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

Entonces dirás a Faraón: “Así dice el Señor: ‘Israel es mi hijo, mi primogénito.

23 a nd I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

‘Y te he dicho: “Deja ir a mi hijo para que me sirva ”, pero te has negado a dejarlo ir. He aquí, mataré a tu hijo, a tu primogénito.’”

24 A nd it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the Lord met him, and sought to kill him.

Y aconteció que en una posada en el camino, el Señor le salió al encuentro y quiso matarlo.

25 T hen Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.

Entonces Séfora tomó un pedernal, cortó el prepucio de su hijo y lo echó a los pies de Moisés, y dijo: Tú eres, ciertamente, un esposo de sangre para mí.

26 S o he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.

Y Dios lo dejó. Ella había dicho entonces: Eres esposo de sangre, a causa de la circuncisión.

27 A nd the Lord said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.

Y el Señor dijo a Aarón: Ve al encuentro de Moisés en el desierto. Y él fue y le salió al encuentro en el monte de Dios, y lo besó.

28 A nd Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.

Y contó Moisés a Aarón todas las palabras del Señor con las cuales le enviaba, y todas las señales que le había mandado hacer.

29 A nd Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:

Entonces fueron Moisés y Aarón y reunieron a todos los ancianos de los hijos de Israel;

30 a nd Aaron spake all the words which the Lord had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

y Aarón habló todas las palabras que Dios había hablado a Moisés. Este hizo entonces las señales en presencia del pueblo,

31 A nd the people believed: and when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

y el pueblo creyó. Y al oír que el Señor había visitado a los hijos de Israel y había visto su aflicción, se postraron y adoraron.
