1 ¶ Then certain scribes and Pharisees of Jerusalem came unto Jesus, saying,

Da kamen zu ihm die Schriftgelehrten und Pharisäer von Jerusalem und sprachen:

2 W hy do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.

Warum übertreten deine Jünger der Ältesten Aufsätze? Sie waschen ihre Hände nicht, wenn sie Brot essen.

3 B ut he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Er antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Warum übertretet denn ihr Gottes Gebot um eurer Aufsätze willen?

4 F or God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother, and, He that curses father or mother, let him die without recourse.

Gott hat geboten: "Du sollst Vater und Mutter ehren; wer Vater und Mutter flucht, der soll des Todes sterben."

5 B ut ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, Whatever I might have helped thee with is already my offering unto God,

Ihr aber lehret: Wer zum Vater oder Mutter spricht: "Es ist Gott gegeben, was dir sollte von mir zu Nutz kommen", der tut wohl.

6 a nd now has no need to honour his father or his mother with succour. Thus ye have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

Damit geschieht es, daß niemand hinfort seinen Vater oder seine Mutter ehrt, und also habt ihr Gottes Gebot aufgehoben um eurer Aufsätze willen.

7 Y e hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,

Ihr Heuchler, wohl fein hat Jesaja von euch geweissagt und gesprochen:

8 T his people draws nigh unto me with their mouth and honours me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

"Dies Volk naht sich zu mir mit seinem Munde und ehrt mich mit seinen Lippen, aber ihr Herz ist fern von mir;

9 B ut in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men.

aber vergeblich dienen sie mir, dieweil sie lehren solche Lehren, die nichts denn Menschengebote sind."

10 ¶ And calling the multitude unto him, he said unto them, Hear and understand:

Und er rief das Volk zu sich und sprach zu ihm: Höret zu und fasset es!

11 n ot that which goes into the mouth defiles the man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles the man.

Was zum Munde eingeht, das verunreinigt den Menschen nicht; sondern was zum Munde ausgeht, das verunreinigt den Menschen.

12 T hen his disciples came and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this word?

Da traten seine Jünger zu ihm und sprachen: Weißt du auch, daß sich die Pharisäer ärgerten, da sie das Wort hörten?

13 B ut he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up.

Aber er antwortete und sprach: Alle Pflanzen, die mein himmlischer Vater nicht pflanzte, die werden ausgereutet.

14 L et them alone; they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into a pit.

Lasset sie fahren! Sie sind blinde Blindenleiter. Wenn aber ein Blinder den andern leitet, so fallen sie beide in die Grube.

15 T hen Peter answered and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

Da antwortete Petrus und sprach zu ihm: Deute uns dieses Gleichnis.

16 A nd Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Seid ihr denn auch noch unverständig?

17 D o not ye yet understand that whatever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly and is cast out into the draught?

Merket ihr noch nicht, daß alles, was zum Munde eingeht, das geht in den Bauch und wird durch den natürlichen Gang ausgeworfen?

18 B ut those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and they defile the man.

Was aber zum Munde herausgeht, das kommt aus dem Herzen, und das verunreinigt den Menschen.

19 F or out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Denn aus dem Herzen kommen arge Gedanken: Mord, Ehebruch, Hurerei, Dieberei, falsch Zeugnis, Lästerung.

20 t hese are the things which defile the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.

Das sind Stücke, die den Menschen verunreinigen. Aber mit ungewaschenen Händen essen verunreinigt den Menschen nicht.

21 ¶ Then Jesus left there and departed into the parts of Tyre and Sidon.

Und Jesus ging aus von dannen und entwich in die Gegend von Tyrus und Sidon.

22 A nd, behold, a woman of Canaan having come out of the same borders cried unto him, saying, Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me; my daughter is sick, possessed by a demon.

Und siehe, ein kanaanäisches Weib kam aus derselben Gegend und schrie ihm nach und sprach: Ach HERR, du Sohn Davids, erbarme dich mein! Meine Tochter wird vom Teufel übel geplagt.

23 B ut he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she cries out after us.

Und er antwortete ihr kein Wort. Da traten zu ihm seine Jünger, baten ihn und sprachen: Laß sie doch von dir, denn sie schreit uns nach.

24 B ut he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Er antwortete aber und sprach: Ich bin nicht gesandt denn nur zu den verlorenen Schafen von dem Hause Israel.

25 T hen she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Sie kam aber und fiel vor ihm nieder und sprach: HERR, hilf mir!

26 B ut he answered and said, It is not good to take the children’s bread and to cast it to the little dogs.

Aber er antwortete und sprach: Es ist nicht fein, daß man den Kindern ihr Brot nehme und werfe es vor die Hunde.

27 A nd she said, Yes, Lord, yet the little dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

Sie sprach: Ja, HERR; aber doch essen die Hündlein von den Brosamlein, die von ihrer Herren Tisch fallen.

28 T hen Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou desire. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

Da antwortete Jesus und sprach zu ihr: O Weib, dein Glaube ist groß! Dir geschehe, wie du willst. Und ihre Tochter ward gesund zu derselben Stunde.

29 ¶ And Jesus left there and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee and went up into the mountain and sat down there.

Und Jesus ging von da weiter und kam an das Galiläische Meer und ging auf einen Berg und setzte sich allda.

30 A nd many people came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many other sick and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them,

Und es kam zu ihm viel Volks, die hatten mit sich Lahme, Blinde, Stumme, Krüppel und viele andere und warfen sie Jesu vor die Füße, und er heilte sie,

31 i nsomuch that the multitude wondered when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see, and they glorified the God of Israel.

daß sich das Volk verwunderte, da sie sahen, daß die Stummen redeten, die Krüppel gesund waren, die Lahmen gingen, die Blinden sahen; und sie priesen den Gott Israels.

32 T hen Jesus called his disciples unto him and said, I have mercy on the multitude because they persevere with me now three days and have nothing to eat, and I desire not to send them away fasting lest they faint in the way.

Und Jesus rief seine Jünger zu sich und sprach: Es jammert mich des Volks; denn sie beharren nun wohl drei Tage bei mir und haben nichts zu essen; und ich will sie nicht ungegessen von mir lassen, auf daß sie nicht verschmachten auf dem Wege.

33 T hen his disciples say unto him, From where do we have so much bread in the wilderness as to satisfy so great a multitude?

Da sprachen seine Jünger zu ihm: Woher mögen wir so viel Brot nehmen in der Wüste, daß wir so viel Volks sättigen?

34 A nd Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven and a few little fishes.

Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Wie viel Brote habt ihr? Sie sprachen: Sieben und ein wenig Fischlein.

35 A nd he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.

Und er hieß das Volk sich lagern auf die Erde

36 A nd he took the seven loaves and the fishes and gave thanks and broke them and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

und nahm die sieben Brote und die Fische, dankte, brach sie und gab sie seinen Jüngern; und die Jünger gaben sie dem Volk.

37 A nd they all ate and were filled, and they took up of the broken food that was left seven baskets full.

Und sie aßen alle und wurden satt; und hoben auf, was übrig blieb von Brocken, sieben Körbe voll.

38 A nd those that ate were four thousand men besides women and children.

Und die da gegessen hatten, derer waren viertausend Mann, ausgenommen Weiber und Kinder.

39 A nd he sent away the multitude and took ship and came into the borders of Magdala.

Und da er das Volk hatte von sich gelassen, trat er in ein Schiff und kam in das Gebiet Magdalas.
