Muitas vezes me oprimiram desde a minha juventude, mas jamais conseguiram vencer-me.

3 T he plowers plowed upon my back; They made long their furrows.

Passaram o arado em minhas costas e fizeram longos sulcos.

4 J ehovah is righteous: He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

O Senhor é justo! Ele libertou-me das algemas dos ímpios.

5 L et them be put to shame and turned backward, All they that hate Zion.

Retrocedam envergonhados todos os que odeiam Sião.

6 L et them be as the grass upon the housetops, Which withereth before it groweth up;

Sejam como o capim do terraço, que seca antes de crescer,

7 W herewith the reaper filleth not his hand, Nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

que não enche as mãos do ceifeiro nem os braços daquele que faz os fardos.

8 N either do they that go by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; We bless you in the name of Jehovah.

E que ninguém que passa diga: “Seja sobre vocês a bênção do Senhor; nós os abençoamos em nome do Senhor!”
