1 T he king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever he will.

Como aguas que se reparten es el corazón del rey en la mano de Jehová: él lo inclina hacia todo lo que quiere.

2 E very way of a man is right in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the hearts.

Todo camino del hombre es recto en su propia opinión, pero Jehová pesa los corazones.

3 T o do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.

Hacer justicia y juicio es para Jehová más agradable que el sacrificio.

4 A high look, and a proud heart, Even the lamp of the wicked, is sin.

Los ojos altivos, el corazón orgulloso y el pensamiento de los malvados, todo es pecado.

5 T he thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; But every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.

Los planes del diligente ciertamente tienden a la abundancia, y ciertamente va a la pobreza todo el que alocadamente se apresura.

6 T he getting of treasures by a lying tongue Is a vapor driven to and fro by them that seek death.

Amontonar tesoros por medio de la mentira es fugaz ilusión de aquellos que buscan la muerte.

7 T he violence of the wicked shall sweep them away, Because they refuse to do justice.

La rapiña de los malvados los destruirá, por cuanto no quisieron actuar conforme a derecho.

8 T he way of him that is laden with guilt is exceeding crooked; But as for the pure, his work is right.

El camino del hombre perverso es torcido y extraño, pero los hechos del que es puro son rectos.

9 I t is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.

Mejor es vivir en un rincón del terrado que en casa espaciosa con mujer pendenciera.

10 T he soul of the wicked desireth evil: His neighbor findeth no favor in his eyes.

El alma del malvado desea el mal; su prójimo no halla favor en sus ojos.

11 W hen the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; And when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

Cuando el escarnecedor es castigado, el simple se hace sabio; cuando se amonesta al sabio, aprende ciencia.

12 T he righteous man considereth the house of the wicked, How the wicked are overthrown to their ruin.

Observa el justo la casa del malvado, cómo los malvados son trastornados por el mal.

13 W hoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry, but shall not be heard.

El que cierra su oído al clamor del pobre tampoco será oído cuando clame.

14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger; And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.

La dádiva en secreto calma el enojo; el regalo discreto, la fuerte ira.

15 I t is joy to the righteous to do justice; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

Alegría es para el justo practicar la justicia, pero un desastre para los que cometen iniquidad.

16 T he man that wandereth out of the way of understanding Shall rest in the assembly of the dead.

El hombre que se aparta del camino de la sabiduría vendrá a parar en la compañía de los muertos.

17 H e that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: He that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Caerá en la pobreza el hombre que ama los placeres; y el que ama el vino y los perfumes no se enriquecerá.

18 T he wicked is a ransom for the righteous; And the treacherous cometh in the stead of the upright.

Rescate por el justo será el malvado, y por los rectos, el prevaricador.

19 I t is better to dwell in a desert land, Than with a contentious and fretful woman.

Mejor es vivir en tierra desierta que con la mujer pendenciera e irascible.

20 T here is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; But a foolish man swalloweth it up.

Tesoro preciado y aceite hay en la casa del sabio, pero el hombre insensato todo lo disipa.

21 H e that followeth after righteousness and kindness Findeth life, righteousness, and honor.

El que sigue la justicia y la misericordia hallará la vida, la justicia y el honor.

22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, And bringeth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

Tomó el sabio la ciudad de los fuertes y derribó la fuerza en que ella confiaba.

23 W hoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from troubles.

El que guarda su boca y su lengua, su vida guarda de angustias.

24 T he proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He worketh in the arrogance of pride.

Escarnecedor es el nombre del soberbio y presuntuoso que actúa con la insolencia de su presunción.

25 T he desire of the sluggard killeth him; For his hands refuse to labor.

El deseo del perezoso lo mata, porque sus manos no quieren trabajar.

26 T here is that coveteth greedily all the day long; But the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.

El codicioso codicia todo el día; el justo da sin retener su mano.

27 T he sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: How much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind!

El sacrificio de los malvados es abominable, ¡tanto más ofreciéndolo con maldad!

28 A false witness shall perish; But the man that heareth shall speak so as to endure.

El testigo falso perecerá, pero el hombre que escucha, siempre podrá responder.

29 A wicked man hardeneth his face; But as for the upright, he establisheth his ways.

El hombre malvado endurece su rostro, pero el recto ordena sus caminos.

30 T here is no wisdom nor understanding Nor counsel against Jehovah.

No hay sabiduría ni inteligencia ni consejo contra Jehová.

31 T he horse is prepared against the day of battle; But victory is of Jehovah.

El caballo se apareja para el día de la batalla, pero Jehová es quien da la victoria.
