1 ¶ O sing unto the LORD a new song; sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

Cantate al Signore un cantico nuovo, cantate al Signore, abitanti di tutta la terra!

2 S ing unto the LORD, bless his name; show forth his saving health from day to day.

Cantate al Signore, benedite il suo nome, annunciate di giorno in giorno la sua salvezza!

3 D eclare his glory among the Gentiles, his wonders among all peoples.

Proclamate la sua gloria fra le nazioni e i suoi prodigi fra tutti i popoli!

4 F or the LORD is great and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.

Perché il Signore è grande e degno di sovrana lode; egli è tremendo sopra tutti gli dèi.

5 F or all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

Poiché tutti gli dèi delle nazioni sono idoli vani; il Signore, invece, ha fatto i cieli.

6 H onour and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

Splendore e maestà sono davanti a lui, forza e bellezza stanno nel suo santuario.

7 G ive unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the peoples, give unto the LORD the glory and the strength.

Date al Signore, o famiglie dei popoli, date al Signore gloria e forza.

8 G ive unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; bring offerings, and come into his courts.

Date al Signore la gloria dovuta al suo nome, portategli offerte e venite nei suoi cortili.

9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness; fear before him, all the earth.

Prostratevi davanti al Signore vestiti di sacri ornamenti, tremate davanti a lui, abitanti di tutta la terra!

10 ¶ Say among the Gentiles that the LORD reigns; he also has established the world, it shall not be moved; he shall judge the peoples righteously.

Dite fra i popoli: «Il Signore regna; il mondo quindi è saldo e non potrà vacillare; il Signore giudicherà le nazioni con rettitudine».

11 L et the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar and the fullness thereof.

Gioiscano i cieli ed esulti la terra; risuoni il mare e quanto contiene.

12 L et the field be joyful and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice

Esultino i campi e quanto è in essi; tutti gli alberi delle foreste emettano grida di gioia

13 b efore the LORD; for he has come, for he has come to judge the earth; he shall judge the world with righteousness and the peoples with his truth.

in presenza del Signore; poiché egli viene, viene a giudicare la terra. Egli giudicherà il mondo con giustizia e i popoli con verità.
