1 ¶ Then Bildad, the Shuhite, answered, and said,

2 D ominion and fear are with God; he makes peace in his high places.

3 I s there any number to his armies? And upon whom does his light not arise?

Le sue legioni si possono forse contare? Su chi non si leva la sua luce?

4 H ow then can man be justified with God? Or how can he that is born of a woman be clean?

Come può dunque l’uomo essere giusto davanti a Dio? Come può essere puro il nato di donna?

5 B ehold, even the moon shall not shine, neither are the stars pure in his sight.

Ecco, la luna stessa manca di chiarore e le stelle non sono pure agli occhi di lui;

6 H ow much less man, who is as a worm, and the son of man, who is also a worm?

quanto meno l’uomo, che è un verme, il figlio d’uomo che è un vermiciattolo!»
