1 M oreover Jehovah answered Job, and said,

Además respondió Jehová a Job, y dijo:

2 S hall he that cavilleth contend with the Almighty? He that argueth with God, let him answer it.

¿Contenderá el discutidor con el Omnipotente? El que disputa con Dios, responda a esto.

3 T hen Job answered Jehovah, and said,

Entonces respondió Job a Jehová, y dijo:

4 B ehold, I am of small account; What shall I answer thee? I lay my hand upon my mouth.

He aquí que yo soy vil; ¿qué te responderé? Mi mano pongo sobre mi boca.

5 O nce have I spoken, and I will not answer; Yea, twice, but I will proceed no further.

Una vez hablé, mas no responderé; Aun dos veces, mas no volveré a hablar. Manifestaciones del poder de Dios

6 T hen Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Respondió Jehová a Job desde el torbellino, y dijo:

7 G ird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Cíñete ahora, como un luchador, tus lomos; Yo te preguntaré, y tú me responderás.

8 W ilt thou even annul my judgment? Wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be justified?

¿Invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿Me condenarás a mí, para justificarte tú?

9 O r hast thou an arm like God? And canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

¿Tienes tú un brazo como el de Dios? ¿Y truenas con voz como la suya?

10 D eck thyself now with excellency and dignity; And array thyself with honor and majesty.

Adórnate ahora de majestad y de alteza, Y vístete de honra y de hermosura.

11 P our forth the overflowings of thine anger; And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.

Derrama el ardor de tu ira; Mira a todo altivo, y abátelo.

12 L ook on every one that is proud, and bring him low; And tread down the wicked where they stand.

Mira a todo soberbio, y humíllalo, Y quebranta a los impíos en su sitio.

13 H ide them in the dust together; Bind their faces in the hidden place.

Húndelos a todos en el polvo, Encierra sus rostros en la oscuridad;

14 T hen will I also confess of thee That thine own right hand can save thee.

Y yo mismo te confesaré Que podrá salvarte tu diestra.

15 B ehold now, behemoth, which I made as well as thee; He eateth grass as an ox.

He aquí ahora el hipopótamo, el cual hice como a ti; Hierba come como el buey.

16 L o now, his strength is in his loins, And his force is in the muscles of his belly.

Mira que su fuerza está en sus lomos, Y su vigor en los músculos de su vientre.

17 H e moveth his tail like a cedar: The sinews of his thighs are knit together.

Atiesa su cola como un cedro, Los nervios de sus genitales están entretejidos;

18 H is bones are as tubes of brass; His limbs are like bars of iron.

Sus huesos son fuertes como bronce, Y sus costillas como barras de hierro.

19 H e is the chief of the ways of God: He only that made him giveth him his sword.

Él es una obra maestra de Dios; Sólo el que lo hizo, puede acercarle la espada.

20 S urely the mountains bring him forth food, Where all the beasts of the field do play.

Ciertamente los montes producen hierba para él; Y toda bestia del campo retoza allá.

21 H e lieth under the lotus-trees, In the covert of the reed, and the fen.

Se recuesta bajo los lotos, En lo oculto de las cañas y de los lugares húmedos.

22 T he lotus-trees cover him with their shade; The willows of the brook compass him about.

Los árboles sombríos lo cubren con su sombra; Los sauces del arroyo lo rodean.

23 B ehold, if a river overflow, he trembleth not; He is confident, though a Jordan swell even to his mouth.

He aquí, sale de madre el río, pero él no se inmuta; Tranquilo está, aunque todo un Jordán se estrelle contra su boca.

24 S hall any take him when he is on the watch, Or pierce through his nose with a snare?

¿Lo tomará alguno cuando está vigilante, Y horadará su nariz?
