T hen the king of Israel called all the elders of the land, and said, “Please notice how this man seeks mischief; for he sent to me for my wives, and for my children, and for my silver, and for my gold; and I didn’t deny him.”

El rey de Israel convocó entonces a todos los ancianos del país, y les dijo: «¿Se dan cuenta de que ese rey está buscando perjudicarme? Me pidió que le entregara mis tesoros de plata y de oro, y hasta mis mujeres y mis hijos, ¡y no se los negué!»
