Y o parecía un cordero inocente que llevan al degolladero. No entendía lo que estaban tramando contra mí, cuando decían: «Destruyamos el árbol con su fruto. Cortémoslo de esta tierra de los vivientes, y que de su nombre no quede ni el recuerdo.»

But I was like a tame lamb that is brought to the slaughter; I did not know that they had devised inventions and schemes against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
