I o ero come un agnello mansueto condotto al macello e non sapevo che ordivano macchinazioni contro di me, dicendo: «Distruggiamo l'albero col suo frutto e eliminiamolo dalla terra dei viventi, affinché il suo nome non sia piú ricordato».

But I was like a tame lamb that is brought to the slaughter; I did not know that they had devised inventions and schemes against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
